Battlefield 3 Team Releases an Xbox Gameplay Trailer Along With PC Comparison
DICE has been pretty vocal about its support for the PC as a platform, and has proudly shown off code for its Windows version of Battlefield 3 whenever possible. This PC centric approach has led many to question why the console version is such a secret, and just how much visual definition will be sacrificed for users without proper PC gaming hardware. If you count yourself among the curious, wonder no longer my friends. DICE has not only released footage of the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 3, but they were kind enough to post snippets of gameplay that was revealed recently in a PC trailer.
After taking a look at both videos side by side I was actually somewhat surprised. The PC version looks better, no contest, but it wasn’t as dramatic as I had expected. When you consider that Sandy Bridge integrated graphics are quickly approaching the processing power of an Xbox 360 GPU, I wasn’t expecting much from 6 year old console hardware. It’s also worth noting however that the cloak of the night might be hiding more visual blemishes that would be more obvious in daytime missions, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
Of course graphics are only one side of the story. With support for larger multiplayer matches, dedicated servers, and the inevitable mod’s that are sure to follow, the PC version is the one we would recommend for anyone interested in picking this one up.
What were your impressions of the 360 footage vs. the PC?

the alpha test matched the hype! I got a radeon hd 5870 eyefinity and ran fine at max settings! however it was alpha test so limited graphics controls, but it will more than the hype.

On the 360, or a PC with an older graphics card?
Context is important here!

Clearly I was referring to the console version. Are you that thick-headed?

Ha! Probably like, never! You will probably have to wait for Battlefield 6 to come out... Maybe then, tablets will be optimized to handle desktop-like graphics. Until then, you're going to have to wait dude.

"Of course graphics are only one side of the story"
Nope sorry my friend graphics are EVERYTHING nowadays. Graphics are the only thing that seems to matter to anyone now.....all thanks to Crysis.
I personally don't think this game will live up to it's hype. In fact I know it won't because both of the gamestops in my town have only had a total of 12 people pre-order BF3. Out of a place with 4 Brigades of soldiers(who u would think would jump all over BF).....only a dozen or so people have even heard of it. However everyday their is a line of guys pre-ordering MW3. I blame Bad Company. Cuz everyone I know hated that game, myself included. It was boring and the graphics were worse than the PS2 game "Black". Alot of people have already written off BF3 thinking it's another "Bad Company"
You also have to remember the PC graphics "purists" who will shun the game simply because the 360/PS3's graphics come kinda close to the PC version. I can already hear the "its a stupid console port" coming from their mouths....just look at the comments on youtube.

Now, now, Nimrod...we discussed in another post about your insults and how lacking they are. remember to use the Shakespeare generator, you mindless piece of rotted meat, whose very words reek of laziness and ignorance. Go find a classic book and expand your brain; make those brain cells work! Within three weeks, I guarantee you will be able to use less vulgar language and start perfecting the art of insults.

I'm sorry, what?
LARPING - Live Action Role Playing. Could also be considered acting. More so in theater than in movies.
But I guess you already knew that, didn't you. Your intelligence knows no bounds!
By the way, what is an "English teaching" exactly? Or did you mean an English teacher? This is the problem with people today, especially those on the internet. They feel that because its a forum, or message board (yes, the comment system on these stories are a form of message board), they feel that they don't need to type a coherent sentence, and can just mash their hands on the keyboard, make something that might look slightly remotely like a proper post to someone who is blind, and submit it. Then get all defensive when they're called out on their lack of ability to have a normal, coherent conversation.
It sounds like you have a lot of anger issues, and you seem to be taking them out on commenters here. That isn't healthy. So, because kixofmyg0t has a different opinion than you, he is, and I quote, "fucking retrarded". Still not sure what that means, but whatever, I digress.
I'd hate to see you in any form of debate. You'd probably end up throwing (or at least trying to) your podium at your opponent in an angry rage. Seek help buddy...

No, graphics are certainly not everything. That is quite possibly one of the more ridiculous things I've heard in a while. Look at the glorious bounty of games pouring out on the indie market. I'd venture to bet that less than 5 utilize any sort of DX11 capabilities. I'm sorry you feel PC gaming today is all about graphics, because it most certainly isn't.
However, games like this that market graphics and realism as one of their main selling points, yes, I expect it to deliver on the eye candy.
Funny how no one around you is buying it. I know like 15 people, personally, that are grabbing the game on day one. I probably know closer to 50 people if we're counting online contacts.
Also, I wouldn't use Gamestop as your barometer for gauging game sales. Gamestop would be one of the last places I'd go to buy my PC game.
Let MW3 claim more sales and pre orders. I couldn't care less. We both know BF3 will be the superior title, especially on PC. MW3 is yet another rehash of a rehashed, rehash. Same engine, same DX9 limited capabilities, same old tired gameplay, and your broad array of weapons and maps that were reskinned from the last Modern Warfare title.
I agree that the hype is a bit much, but it will only disappoint if you let it disappoint. Disappointment isn't like dedicated server support, DX11 support or game features. Disappointment is entirely dependant on the end user... you.
If you think it will disappoint, then it probably will.

Don't you realize that he is in the know? I mean, those 12 people right there indicate the game will fail! Doesn't matter that Battlefield is one of the bigger combat shooters on the market. And that digital distribution has taken over for brick and mortar stores. Not to mention there are countless other places to pre-order the game (amazon, GameStop website, etc.).
Maybe if a 13th person pre-ordered it for PC in the GameStop store, then BF3 would have a snowball's chance in hell of succeeding!

I'm just saying that everyone I know doesn't like or has never heard of Battlefield. It's ALL Call of Duty here
I'm well aware that their are many avenues of digital distribution.....but you have to realize that where i'm from and where I work if you have a "gaming PC" or you play games on PC then "you need to get out more". I had to introduce my friends(all but one of them...who already knew) to Crysis 2 because they'd never even heard of Crysis....let alone 2. The anti-PC stigma force is strong here.....unless it's WoW and hell even my XOOM has enough graphical horsepower to play that game.
I still stand by my staement that sadly the only things that matter to most people.....well most PC players. Console players don't bitch about it as much....cuz hey I think Killzone 3 and Uncharted 2 look just as good as Crysis 2. I think Metal Gear Solid 4 looks better in everyway to Deus Ex:HR........
*ZOMFGBBQ HE SAID A STUPID CONSOLE GAME LOOKS BETTER THIS CANNOT BE!! RRRRRAAAAAHHHH ALL CAPS RAGE! LET THE FLAMES BEGIN*

If you use your PC for anything other than playing games, I just don't see how you can agree to the Punkbuster ToS. There are so many cheaters out there in bf2, I hope they just abandon the Punkbuster crap for this run.

Punkbuster is actually one of the better anticheats out there, certainly better than VAC in my opinion. It works on a real time basis and is updated more regularly than most others. VAC drags its feat in comparison.

I hope this game hangs EA with the rope that is Origin. I'd really love to see EA out of business or at least out of PC gaming. They should go back to making shity console sports games and stay away from serious gaming.

Oh gosh... A Steam fan. Look, EA makes great quality games for girls like the Sims 3 and Alice: Madness Returns. The PC Gaming industry lack diversity, and EA brings back some of that diversity back to the PC Gamers. How can you hate Origins? It does not force you to launch it just to play a game... Unlike Steam. I mean, a password just to play games? What am I using, an app?
Judging from a preview of Xbox Live for Windows 8... I must say, it made steam look pretty outdated like FireFox. At some point, gamers are going to question the relevance of Steam when they can simply buy something that is more connected, and less forceful. The only thing Steam has going is the discounts... If it wasn't for those very discounts, steam would have shut down long ago.
