Batman: Arkham City, Norton Ghost Free with Samsung 830 SSD Series
Samsung is offering a deal that helps take the sting out of investing in a solid state drive. For a limited time, buyers of Samsung's new 830 SSD series in 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB capacities will receive download codes for the full versions of Batman: Arkham City and Norton Ghost. There's also a 64GB model available that comes with Norton Ghost, but not the Batman game.
The 830 SSD series is built around a SATA 6Gbps interface and offers double the bandwidth of Samsung's previous flagship 470 series. Sequential read and write speeds are rated at up to 520MB/s and 400MB/s, respectively, along with up to 80,000 IOPS random read speeds.
Samsung said it's using 20nm-class toggle DDR NAND chips with transfer rates up to 133Mbps. The company's in-house triple-core MCX controller does the heavy lifting and is purportedly well equipped for multi-tasking chores and superior throughput under heavy input/output operations.
"Since Samsung manufactures all components of the 830 SSD, we are able to deliver amazing performance and enhanced reliability," explained Reid Sullivan, Senior Vice President of Mobile Entertainment, Samsung Electronics America. "In addition, the drives feature an absolutely beautiful design that anyone will want to show off."
Pricing breaks down as follows:
