I have one of the 16gb with Cyanogen7 installed. It's pure awesome. Old Android and old hardware is still a pretty relevant device. Sadly, I bought it about 3 months ago, so in hindsight it may have been wise to wait for the Nexus.

Still I couldn't be happier... well, unless B&N released specs for the Ducati graphics subsystem or w/e, then I would have ICS + full hardware acceleration. Bluetooth would be nice too.

also, has anyone noticed that the nook devici actually do NOT compete with the nexus 7? if you compare specs, even at it's new lower price point, the nook tablet is under powered and over priced, as well as missing a few features. Even after the cut, you're better off going with the nexus 7 every time.

The nexus is a nice device, but really, no Micro SD? C'mon Google. Fuck the cloud, seriously, it's raining out right now.

Still cheaper on Amazon.

actually I believe that if you take your nook into the B&N store they will re-partition the storage to give you more room for your own data.

You can adjust the partition tables using gparted and a live-sdcard to recover at least 10GB for sideload content easily. Any more than that and I think you have to start moving system partitions around, which can get scary. Also, they run cyanogenmod.

These are however able to be modded or dual boot with a micro SD card to run the Gingerbread version of Android running off the card (dual booting), or you can root these and run Ice Cream Sandwich as well.
