Ballmer: Windows 7 Off to "Fantastic Start"
Windows 7 is the best PC operating system ever, according to Steve Ballmer. "We've already sold twice as many units as any OS in a comparable time frame," an exultant Ballmer informed shareholders at a meeting on Thursday.
Its latest operating system has helped the company obscure the spectre of Vista's failure. A couple of NPD reports published during the past fortnight indicate that Windows 7 has so far surpassed Vista in terms of sales, revenue, and adoption rate.
One shareholder apparently became the face of moderation for a bit during the meeting when he questioned Ballmer about Apple's huge popularity with the younger generation. Ballmer admitted that there is some room for improvement. But on the whole, he seemed satisfied with the fact that Windows is by far the most popular OS in the world.

So having almost one tenth the market share of the next guy up the line is "popular" now? Apple is no threat to Microsoft, unless Microsoft ignores Apple. If they continue to be the strong, silent type like they were for so long, they will lose too much of the market to perception (because that is all Apple has going for it IMHO).
I really wish Apple would get a real percentage of the market. At least then people would start writing viruses for the Mac and they would have to stop their bogus "more secure than Windows" propaganda.

Amazing, a statement from Ballmer and at no time does he come across with a stupid comment.
Your Mother was a hampster and your Father smelled of elderberries. Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time.

Ballmer should have answered, "Apparently the 'younger generation' is around 5% of the total personal computer market share."

More like the average young-un these days needs some sort of matte white or shiny object to stimulate themselves fo more than 5 minutes. That's why they all get Xbox's and Wii's and PS3' andApple crap. It sucks though because I'm considered to be in that age group.
CLICK.
