Awesome Transformer USB Drive is Awesome

comment Commentsprint Printemail EmailDeliciousDiggStumbleUponRedditFacebookSlashdot

The last time you saw Ravage, he was transforming from a demon cat into a mini-cassette, but that's no way to lie inconspicuous in the modern era. Not to worry though, because Soundwave's minion has managed to avoid obsolescence by now transforming into a 2GB USB thumb drive.

That's just cool, albeit pricey. You can pre-order the drive now for $43 (ships in September), and toss in another $2 to upgrade to "Collector's Grade,' which guarantees packaging to be 90 percent mint or better. That could come into play when, decades from now, your grandkids ask you what the hell a USB thumb drive is.

avatarOnly 2GB?

If anything the capacity should be something unbelievable like 200GB. Now that would be worthy of the Transformer brand. Paying close to $50 for a 2GB flash drive is quite stupid since everyone is spending less these days. If I wanted a Ravage flash drive I can always attach a 64GB Xporter XT Boost to my Ravage Transformer....yes I still have all my original Transformers, even the Constructicons.

I WANT IT I WANT IT I WANT IT I DOOOOO

I used to watch the transformers all the time as a kid.  I can't wait to have this in my office, laying on my desk, to play with when no one's looking.

avatarHoly crap I want that.

Holy crap I want that. I never watched Transformers (it was before my time) but I used to love Beast Wars.

God, Beast Wars had the crappiest CGI I've seen to this day, but I loved it. I think I still have the toys for Cheetor for second and third seasons, and Optimal Optimus.

It needs the little heat activated sticker instead of the purple decepticon logo. :-)

avatarIntentional?

There's an off-chance (roughly 100%) that the redundancy was intentional.

avatarEqually Impressive!

That's now on my Cool & I Want It Now list.I think that beats out the USB motorcycle engine and the USB humping dog. that thing should be like 4 GB though, not 2. they should come out with a WD Passport drive that transforms, as well.

 Transformable MyBooks... interesting concept.

avatarRavage not Voltron

How can you not tell that is Ravage one of Soundwave's robots; can't believe you thought it looked like

one of the Voltron lions...or you must be really young and not know the original Transformers.

I want that. Now.

I dunno, I don't really remember Ravage all that well but it does have a head like one of the Voltron cats.

avatarThey've modified the head

They've modified the head from the original...so it does look similiar to the Voltron lions; I think they may have someone who loves Voltron on their staff.

Funny. I'm 29 and grew up on Transformers and Voltron. Yes, the peripheral looks like a Voltron lion, just black.
