I bet you're not buying this for battery life.... :)

Desktop replacement units/high power gaming machines - yeah, I don't care about battery life for those systems. The battery needs to last long enough that if I accidently knock the plug out of the wall while gaming, it'll last the 5 minutes it takes me to go plus it back in. That's about it!

I suppose you would plug a full size keyboard and mouse into it as well?

Yep, I get it - battery life/portability are a big deal to you, so this computer doesn't really meet your needs. And that's good - everyone has different needs/wants/expectations out of their systems; your needs are certainly just as important as mine, and anyone else's.

My point is, these things aren't designed really for battery life. My ideal systems are 17-18 inch laptops with a high end graphics card (or cards!) and top of the line processor. I prefer the laptop to a desktop, as I can take it with me on the road, or move it around the house, etc. it's not 'portable' in the sense that I can use it on the train, or operate on battery power for long periods - but that's not what I look for. I think of it more as a slightly more mobile desktop PC.

Oh, and though I think you were kidding - I found a review of the 570, and they do indeed state that the battery life was a new record low - the system did indeed shut down after 20 minutes. So your guess was 100% correct!

I bet the battery lasts 20 min.

It's got to be horrid when they don't even mention it on their website.
