Asus G74 Gaming Notebook Available for Pre-Order
If last week it was Toshiba and MSI, this week it’s AsusTek’s turn to bolster its gaming notebook lineup. The Core i7-powered Asus G74SX is all set to join the Taiwanese vendor’s G Series of gaming notebooks. Two SKUs of the G74 are now available for pre-order in the States via ExcaliberPC.
Both the SKUs, the $1,799 G74SX-A1 and $1,999 G74SX-3DE, are identical for the most part, with the latter’s 3D display being the only difference. The G74 sports a 17.3" Full HD (1920 x 1080) LED Display. It packs an Intel Sandy Bridge Core i7-2630QM (2.0GHz) processor, 12GB DDR3 1333MHz memory, a 1.5TB (750GB 7200RPM x 2) hard drive, a Blu-ray/DVD combo drive, a GeForce GTX 560M 3GB GDDR5 graphics card, Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit, USB 3.0 and an illuminated keyboard.
Where design is concerned, Asus has gone against the grain by keeping things fairly simple. From the pictures, the G74 seems to be a sturdily built machine.
