Prior to purchasing I called ASUS support department (11 Oct) and wanted to know exactly what model of the Eepc 1015PEM I needed to purchase in order to get the 1-USB 2.0 and 2-USB 3.0 ports.

I was told I needed the 1015PEM-PU17. So with that information I ordered exactly that from on the 11th of October. When my netbook arrived late on the 15th of October I found it had 3-USB 2.0 ports and NO USB 3.0 ports. I called ASUS tech support on the 18th of October, spoke to ***** after 15 minutes on hold, he took my information and told me he could not locate a Supervisor, but he would have one call me before the end of the week. Well today is Friday, the end of the week and no call, so I called tech support. 22 October at 2pm CST – could not find a supervisor, told me to call back in an hour.  I called back at 3:22pm and after waiting 11 minutes to locate a supervisor the phone started ringing, I let it ring two minutes and no one answered. Needless to say I am NOT happy with ASUS at this moment.

The 1015PEM is avaiable at Amazon and they are shipping for $368.59. It looks like the only difference is the NVidia graphics chip.

The bloody Brit bast@$%^'s won't ship it to my US address. When I pressed on purchase, a new screen opened up telling me that this item can't be sent to my address with an option to learn more.

There really has to be some way around this without spending $15,000 dollars on First Class seats with British Airways in one of there beautiful 747's that offer non-stop flights from Phoenix to London.

For $70 more you could get the 1215N at newegg with the 12 inch screen and 1.8 dual core, if you don't want to wait. It's also got 2 gb mem and windows 7 home premium.

These products that get released overseas before it gets released in the US are somehow unavailable to us until they get released here. I'm wondering if there is a way to cheat the system, make it work for us. I just checked Amazon UK and these things are available, there has to be a way to purchase these things from the UK website and have it sent to the US.

I've made a couple book purchases from an website before so I know it's possible to do. I mean, they didn't argue with me, tell me they didn't want my money.

Here they are In-Stock at
