Asus to Announce Transformer 2 Tablet November 9th, Offers Sneak Peek Now
Perhaps looking to steal a little thunder from Amazon's upcoming Kindle Fire launch on November 17th, Asus is gearing up to officially announce it's Eee Pad Transformer 2 tablet on November 9th. Asus posted a teaser video that's more flair than informative, but company chairman Johnny Shih did share some juicy details with Walt Mossberg at the AsiaD conference.
All that you can really gather from the above teaser video is that the Transformer 2 is slim, sexy, and rocking a built-in camera with flash. According to AllThingsD, Shih told Mossberg that his company's second generation Transformer is another 10-inch tablet, this time measuring a scant 8.3mm thin.
The real treat here is the Nvidia quad-core processor (Tegra 3) shoved inside, which should complement Android's Ice Cream Sandwich nicely, if that's in fact what the Transformer 2 ends up running. When asked if Asus will install Android 4.0 on tablets by the end of the year, Shih replied, "Maybe ealier than that."
Shih also confirmed the Transformer 2 will have USB and mini-HDMI ports. Beyond that, we'll have to wait until November 9 to learn what else this thing will come packing.

I'm hoping the release date is before the 16th. I was hoping to get one before going on my trip to London so I didn't have to bring a full laptop along just to be able to do my course work for my class I'm taking.
