ASRock Prepping Fatal1ty-Branded X79 Mobo

Here’s a product announcement that should come as a surprise to, well, no one. Ever since ASRock inked a deal with John “Fatal1ty” Wendel, the company’s been putting out Fatal1ty-branded mobos designed especially for PC gamers. There’s just one problem: the sole “Professional” board in the line is built for P67, not the top-of-the-line LGA 2011 socket. Don’t worry, Sandy Bridge-E/Fatal1ty lovers, you aren’t getting left in the cold; in fact, ASRock is apparently preparing to ship a Fatal1ty-branded X79 board sometime soon.

TechPowerUp has the inside scoop on specs (and even has pics to prove it): the Fatal1ty x79 Professional will include ten SATA ports (with six at 6 Gbps), four PCI-E 3.0 x16 slots for CrossFireX or SLI gaming, four quad-channel DDR3-2400 DIMM slots, six USB 3.0 ports, two eSATA ports, a PCI-E x1 slot and two PCI slots. There’s a host of extras, too, like 7.1 audio, UEFI BIOS, power/reset buttons and a debug LED.

No word yet on the pricing or release date, unfortunately. On the plus side, that will give you time to go grab yourself a handful of Fatal1ty’s Nuts of Destruction in anticipation.
