What's the big deal with Apple anyways? Everytime I install something Apple, it doesn't work. iTunes for example...I attempt to import all my music to iTunes to then put it on the iPhony. I imports only 70 out of 1500 mp3's. Apples are supposed to do all this easily...at least in "Mac vs PC", this is what "cool Mac-groupie-guy" alludes to. These people pay out the nose for something which can't even import music properly? SUCKERS!!!!!! I love pointing fingers at the sore losers with broken, $600, partially innovative time wasters. Bow to your masters, Apple freaks. Apple is to the IT Industry like DRM is to the gaming Industry...they aren't alone either. Great time to be a lawyer.

If Apple is so upset at being in a competitors add let them put out the iPhone 5 and show us how innovative they truly are. Put up the hardware, or shut up and let Samsung, and Foxconn go back to work making your products.

they are nothing but little punk ass whiny bitches just like all their faithful followers

So it's ok for apple to make fun of "PC" ads for how many years? But it's not ok for a competitor to do the same thing to them? Looks like to me that they can dish it but can't take it. Its about time someone does this! Its even better that the supplier of apple products is the one sticking it to them!

Paragraph 4: "You hurt my feelings! I'm telling, and I want you to pay me everything!" -Apple

...Absolutely pathetic. I literally heard an entitled child sobbing (in my mind) when I read that paragraph.

My fervent wish for Apple...

BURN AND DIE.

If only Apple would shut up and work harder to deliver products that could actually match current-gen tech, then they wouldn't be having any issues with Samsung's ads at all. Now, they're just trying to pull a lawsuit to recover from the damage of Samsung spreading the facts that everybody knows but nobody wants to believe.

Thanks to this article I finally can put an exact reason why I despise Apple so much. Apple epitomizes my generation's pansy-ass-ness and sense of entitlement. Crying, whining, and all around making a fuss while trying to look "hip" instead of working hard. Thanks to you as well Mr. Van Der Beek!

The only real winners in this craptastic fanfare Apple is shooting out of desperation for more money, is the team of lawyers...who is TAKING Apples money. (and unfortunately Samsung)

Sue on and lose Apple, waste the money you could otherwise use to make more "innovative" and "distinctive" products.

Apple is falling into the niche that Microsoft was riding for so many years. People are buying Apple for the name and not the product. This is a slippery slope. As Apple feels more and more invincible, they allow the quality of their product to slide opening the flood gates for ridicule like the Samsung ads we are seeing and eventually they will start to decline in sales and have to start back from the bottom again. They should have taken a few notes from Microsoft before they started bashing them a few years ago.

As the saying goes, those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

"While Samsung sells products copying features that make the iPhone distinct,"

Yeah, cause Apple never copied anyone... /sarcasm

1) Agree with earlier poster that if this flies, Microsoft and PC companies should join up and sue Apple for their "I'm a Mac" ads.

2) How the heck does Apple really think that it can claim that it "invented" these technologies? There's precedent for just about every damn thing they have. All they brought to the equation was a "style". That and good marketing.

3) This utter crap coming out of Cupertino is only solidifying my resolve to never buy an Apple product ever again. Actually, it almost makes me ashamed that I have ever fed money to that company.

Yeah. Keep burning those bridges Apple. Winning hearts and minds every day.

1- MS took the high road and pretty much ignored those ads and bill gates himself mentioned the lies these ads suggest aren't worth acknowledgement.
2- Apple never invented anything. They knew how to take advantage of filing for patents before the real inventors did. The only thing they innovated on is marketing and flimflamming their way into the consumer market.
3- don't feel bad that you've realized how you have been duped. There are millions of people still drinking the apple Kool-Aid and dedicating their financial lives around apple.

Sounds like Tim is feeling a little butt hurt. Awwww...

If Apple's products really ARE better, they have nothing to worry about. But it appears the public is voting with their wallet. That says is all.

Why are we surprised that Apple cries about Samsung's ad campaign when the Mac vs. PC ads were exactly the same thing from the other side? As a PC user, I thought the Apple campaign was funny too, but this is craziness.

avatar

riopato

Gordon Ung has always said that PC users will always point out the flaws to windows based pcs but ask an apple fan about issues with an apple product and they will never blame Apple for it. You see its always the user's fault or the third party's fault, never Apple's fault.

I wonder if Microsoft and PC manufacturers will band together to sue if Apple if this precedent is set; they certainly should. The Samsung ads are funny and so were the "I'm a Mac" ads; it's advertising, it's supposed to attack the other side.

LOLz at that picture.

Apple is the whiny, hypocritical bitch of the tech world. They are so overloaded with pretentious bullshit, it's really only a matter of time before the fad ends. I think they know this, which is why they sacrifice PR to corner the market at every turn. Of course, the fad is in full steam right now, which only makes these innovation-crushing moves by Apple all the more petty.

"Samsung has simultaneously embarked on an advertising campaign designed to tarnish Apple and mock its consumers for considering Apple's products distinctive and, for that reason, valuable"

Apparently the Mac vs PC campaign wasn't designed to make PC users think they were using an inferior product either? C'mon Apple - double standards suck!

avatar

Samsung is in a very unique position as they are both Apple's competitor and parts supplier. Rip apart any iDevice and all you will see is Samsung's name all over it! If any company that has the right to "copy" Apple, it would be samsung!

I was just thinking the same thing.

On a related note, I just bought an Asus laptop new for $445 that outclasses a $1200 MacBook on every spec.

Apple is trying to set the standard for burning bridges. Eventually all these companies will just get tired of dealing with Apple and their lawsuits and will potentially stop selling them anything or even letting them use their "FRAND" patents.

If you've ever looked at the patents Apple puts out on so many other tech sites (who see it necessary to post everything about Apple except the last time it went to the restroom), you'll notice Apples patents are truly BLAND. By bland I mean very loosely written, in other words if anyone was to use something similar they could sue the hell out of them for it.

Thank you MaximumPC and Mr. Lilly for keeping Apple off this site majority of the time. I loved this article, especially the picture depicting Apple. Hilarious.

Hey.That_Dude

"Apple isn't letting letting up" ... typo.

Apple, cry me a river. You're product isn't anywhere near the specs you released in your patent and even if it was... the "idea" of your product isn't protectable under IP laws. Unless they copied your product part for part, inch for inch, material for material, you can't sue them.
(Which is pretty hard for them not to do since they MADE your products... oops!) IDK why anyone would pick up their business if they threaten legal action because of their "you create the products for them and thus if you use anything like it you get sued" mentality.

[/quote]

Uh, "You're product isn't..." doesn't make any more sense than "letting letting". If you weren't sure, "you're" means "you are". I believe the word you're looking for is "your" which is the possessive case of "you". (reference http://bit.ly/yMAFig)

If you're going to dis someone for a typo, you should make sure you don't have any typo's yourself.

avatar

Hey.That_Dude

Point and case. Your name. Done. really wanna go there. I'm not paid to be professional; he is. That's the difference.
