Good thing my RAZR HD already has Jelly Bean.

Looks like I'll have to buy my Galaxy S III before it gets banned too.

I really hope google crushes these assholes before they drag the entire industry into their stagnant grave of non-innovation and lawsuits.

This just in, a US Judge allowed Apple to include in the patent lawsuit the fact that Samsung has an "a" in its name, and Apple starts with an "a"...

iam not an apple fanboy in any way, but for anyone who actually read the previous lawsuit evidence, samsung clearly was copying apple in every way possible...same in every tangible product...pepsi compares itself to coke...amd compares itself to nvidia...number 2 compares, or copies, itself to number 1 and that will never end. whether you love apple or love android, ford vs chevy, it will not end until one buys the other one out, so pick one and be happy...:)

Yeah except that everything Apple claims Samsung copied Apple copied from someone else. Apple innovated none of those things. They get credit only for putting it all in one package consumers wanted. Great! That's business in this market.

those douchebags were granted the "virtual page turn" now. we all know where this is going to go now. it's just more fuel for their lawsuit against jellybean os

Well it looks like Apple and Google/Motorola may be trying to settle things out---possibly through arbitration. Apple's already settled with HTC.

C'mon Samsung and Apple. Let's end this nonsense and get back to selling great phones and stuff.

RUSENSITIVESWEETNESS

Yesterday, I learned how J.P. Morgan stole the rights to Nikola Tesla's AC generator technology simply by threatening a lawsuit against Westinghouse, who didn't have the means to afford a defense.

Apple intends to destroy competition through baseless litigation. They certainly can't out-engineer anyone.

Shame the U.S. patent system is so easily compromised.

You were watching: The Men Who Built America on the History Channel. That was an amazing series. To translate to modern times I would add Bill Gates for changing the computer industry and Steve Jobs for what he did to the cell phone industry.

Sir Hobbes3

So... basically, if Intel was like Apple (thankfully they're not) Intel should sue AMD because it's processors are square, and every MoBo company because their mobos are square like intel's?

avatar

Part of a cell phone's attraction is it's shape and design. Its not the same with a CPU who's only really selling feature is it's performance. and Intel tried to sue AMD into the ground back in the 80s and 90s. I think they just got tired.

avatar

HeartBurnKid

Err... how in the world can Android be part of this suit without Google being a named party?

avatar

Sir Hobbes3

I don't know, but quite frankly, I really don't see Apple coming out on top here if they keep up with this idiotic lawsuit

This is getting ridiculous. Apple needs to suck it the hell up. Samsung needs to completely drop Apple and stop selling them parts. Apple can't afford to take that loss because no one will sell parts to them out of fear of running into the same crap. Samsung fortunately can afford to drop Apple because they have products everywhere.

What I don't understand is how Apple is being awarded all these patents. Rounded corners on a rectangular device, for one. The hell is that? Half of the crap I own is rectangular in shape with rounded corners. My phone for instance, is a HTC Inspire 4g. I don't see Fapple sueing the hell out of them. My netbook made by Acer is rectangular in shape with rounded corners. They aren't going after them. My microwave, TV, fridge, rat cage, counter in my bathroom, ect. Almost everything these days has that shape, even notebook paper.

You want to know why they are targeting Samsung? Because Samsung is the biggest competitor to their "innovative" business that lacks any innovation. They can't handle the fact they they are no longer on top and are quickly losing ground. I have seen 3 year old children act more mature than the asshats at Apple. They have no business ethic, they are by far the most corrupt company in the world, and they throw a bitch fit when they can't get their way. On top of that, they charge far too much money (triple the market standard) for old outdated or sub-par mid-range hardware. I wouldn't pay $500 for a 7" iPad mini. I can get something twice as good for half the price. Where the hell is the logic? Apple will fall, and they were destined to fail from day one. How can a company go so long with lying to, stealing from, and cheating their customers and competition?

I second that 100%. It is a damn shame that so many people are ignorant to these FACTS. Apple has always refused to play by the rules, and instead of actually being innovative like they'd like people to believe, they simply hire armies of PR representatives and lawyers to brush all of the dirt under the rug. Eventually, however, that mound of dirt gets too large to hide. The way that they behave makes me furious. Nobody else in the world would get away with this, but Apple is literally a religion. [http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-57540154-71/anthropologist-apple-is-a-religion/] Disgusting, this world we live in.

"likewise Apple was granted permission to add the Galaxy Note, Galaxy S III, and Jelly Bean operating system to its own complaint."

LMAO, a Operating system!? Jesus, those idiots might as well toss in the whole of Linux since Jelly Bean is based off of its kernel.
I bet Steve is rolling in his grave for passing on the company to the hands fools.

avatar

harz3000gt

Make no mistake, This was all Steve Jobs' doing. He was no man of morals. He was known for regularly belittling employees, breaking out into fits of rage and other forms of negative behavior. Steve Jobs only genius ideas were in how he brought PR and lawyers to a field where it was far too easy to bully other companies into submission with threats of legal action and the use of brute force (being a long-established tech company with a very loyal, though moronic following.) The iPod was stolen from the original Creative Nomad Jukebox, the iPhone and iPad is just a glorified PDA when you get right down to it. I could go on, but if you aren't convinced by doing even 3 minutes of research on the guy, then you're just another Apple faithful with the blinders on, and nothing I say will change your mind.

avatar

graydiggy

If they are going to sue over an OS (Android in specific), They are going to bring the big dogs at Google in to this. I don't think they understand that they will be crushed.

Also, Steve jobs was willing to bankrupt Apple to see Android fall. This was the path he was leading to.

Of course no customer really wins since Apple and Samsung sue each other constantly now so the legal fees pile up. The only real winner are the lawyers, they must be making a killing and laughing all the way to the bank.

Come on Apple and Samsung... a rectangle shape with rounded corners is not proprietary!!! Get you heads out of your "you know what" and keep on making killer products. Of course, Apple may be scarred that they are losing market shares to Android devices, but hey, hello, wake up Apple... It's called competition!

Apple, user may be tired of being locked into a product with no way to modify it, pay premium fees for connector changes every couple of revisions of your products. That's why Android devices will most always win, MicroUSB anyone?!

avatar

I really don't blame apple for patenting a rectangle shape with curved corners because you know if they didn't do it someone else would. Who I blame is the patent dept for granting it.

avatar

harz3000gt

I don't really blame you for posting a comment without thinking it through. If you didn't do it, somebody else would have. I blame myself for not being there to stop you.

Let them sue each other into the Abyss for all I care.
