"or even pay factory workers in China a decent wage"

I didn't realize Apple owned Foxconn? Even if they paid Foxconn more for their parts I doubt they would in turn hand the extra profits to their workers.

True that. Chinese people are all about greed.

Maybe, they will just buy up all sources of published dissenting opinion. If you need a place to hide, Gordon, you still have friends out here.

Bet they don't use it to pay the foxconn employees any more money...

I wouldn't expect a big dividend. Their stock price will continue to rise without a dividend so investors don't likely need one. Besides which that sets a dangerous precedent that could have a negative long-term effect. I'd think expansion.

You guys through around 100 billion like its chump change! Apples cash reserves are approximately the same amount as the nominal GDP of Bangladesh, a country of 160 million people, that's so crazy!

It could pay every citizen of Bangladesh a years wages and have 0 debt, or just give them all a free iPad!

Yeah... I don't think the $96 Billion is gonna make a big dent in the $15 TRILLION U.S. National debt that the government has. I hope they don't buy AT&T... then it would truly be the worst company in existence (not that it doesn't suck now).

I hope they buy ATNT. They might make it better. But they might raise the prices of their services too.

The only people with worse customer service then AT&T is Apple. I've stood with friends and witnessed the crap they do that doesn't fix the problem. All but one of them has converted back to Windows.
The old saying's true: Buying a Mac is like buying a Zonda (or other ridiculously expensive car). Pretty on the outside, expensive as hell, and when you break it you'll just have to buy a new one cause it will never be the same.

A $96 Billion donation to the governement would probably only trigger a $120 billion tax refund anyway :)

An interesting money making proposal... Apple's gonna do it!
