i know you're a sad individual but jesus christ dude. judging by the timestamps on your comments, you sat around for 7 1/2 hours constantly refreshing this article and your inbox expecting an immediate answer. that is WAY beyond sad and is borderline pathetically depressing. have you ever thought about getting any sort of help ? if you are really that needy for attention, i'll call up the E! channel and talk about getting you a reality show. they could air it before or after the kartrashians and call it the back to back bitches hour.

i know it's a foreign concept to you but some of us don't live in front of a computer screen. i also got some shocking news for you my good friend, some of us do this thing called work and like to get an adequate amount of sleep, hence the non-existent email. i'm sure you'll be reminded what work is tomorrow when you take your monthly trip out of the backwoods out into the civilized world (that means to collect your government cheese and food stamps for your uneducated redneck ass).

as always, looking forward to seeing you in the next crapple article

You seriously need to just shut the hell up. No one likes you. You spew crap from your brain in an attempt to sound intelligent, but ultimately fail by inviting someone over the internet to "make it personal". Do you think you are some sort of badass? That kind of shit is something an angry redneck would say when he gets told by multiple people to shut his trap. That or a 12 year old that didn't get his way. I would love to see you "make it personal" with anyone that takes their time to tell you how ridiculous you sound. I will thank you for the laugh though. You consistently accusing people of having troll accounts is extremely funny. Just because someone has no problem telling you to shut your face, doesn't mean they are using a troll account. Stop acting like a butt hurt child, suck it the hell up and stop complaining about people having an opinion.

"No one likes you..." (That actually doesn't matter to me in the context of comments on unmoderated boards but here is some examples of people who contribute here that agree with me:)

Troll account:

You're welcome fot the laugh. If you think my complaint is over people having an opinion then you should try reading it again.

You sound angry now too.

avatar

graydiggy

You just said to me, what you say to everyone else that tells you to shut the hell up. We know these comment boards are not moderated, you do not need to tell everyone in almost every comment you post. Also, I can tell that you have no life just by looking at this topic alone. Do you seriously have nothing better to do than commenting on everything? Also, I don't need examples of anything from anyone that "agrees" with you. I really don't care.

avatar

Engelsstaub

I can't think of anyone else who told me to shut the hell up in any recent history. Delusional?

Graydiggy to another Comment: "No one wikes you!" Then later: "don't need examples of people who agree I don't care!" ...fuck up, you twat. If you didn't care you wouldn't also be responding either.

I eagerly clicked these ads, hoping to see Apple crash and burn. But really, they're not that bad. Considering they are targeting two specific groups:

1) Apple Fanboys
2) People Who Don't Know Any Better

I think the ads are fine, people will like them.

avatar

How come white men are always portrayed as morons in TV commercials?

avatar

Jeffredo

The Apple Genius is white and helping a brother on the plane.

avatar

warptek2010

Speaking of which... I'm surprised the NAACP didn't catch on this. Portraying a black man as clueless. Oh yeah, that's right... what's his name...Jobs, big progressive and lifelong Democrat. Given a pass.

avatar

GreenTurtle

Because anyone else it would be "racist"...

avatar

froggz

I just hate the fact apple stole the word apps from the warez scene and made it their own. No matter competition is good for the pc market. If it wasn't for apple we wouldn't have Android or better yet Metro. :)

avatar

stradric

No one stole the word 'apps' from anyone. It's a logical abbreviation of the word 'applications'. What a dumb gripe!

avatar

mattman059

"Basically"....Macs are for idiots..thats what i got out of this.

avatar

defiler

Look. Just sell me the most GB's (pronounced gee bees). That's what my friend told me to get.

avatar

The biggest offense is that Apple calls these moron customer service reps "geniuses." Way to go Apple, please belittle Albert Einstein, Nicola Tesla, Stephen Hawking, and many other true geniuses by comparing them with a customer service rep with an 85 IQ.

avatar

warptek2010

It's all a matter of perspective... to another Apple employee he might be a genius, to an Apple customer he might be a genius. To a genius, he's no genius.

Has anyone taken a look at the Macpro recently you would have to be retarded or biggest Apple blind fanboy or girl to buy one, the technology is years behind and 3 times as expensive as buying a pc. How is Apple doing so well, they take so long to update their products look at the Imac why would you buy this over a Dell all in one which is up to date and cheaper? Why buy a macbook and look like a douche. I predict 2013 is where Windows makes a comeback and Apple starts the slow slide. Their products look the same for last 10 years. What if you want a black laptop, or a blue one? One if you want a lan party or portable desktop sff. What if you dont like Itunes? So many limitations to Apple, its the Paris Hilton or Kardashian of pc's

avatar

0ly1r3m@1ns

No, 2013 people will be buying macs since windows 8 is fucking terrible, but people will realise its just over priced hardware with a subpar OS thats barley better than Win8 and they will move to Ubuntu since mark is planning of pushing it in 2013 in the wake of win8

avatar

tekknyne

To come by the answers to your questions, one would require sufficient logic and reasoning skills- lets say greater than a fourth grader. I don't think that's exactly Apple's target market.

avatar

acidic

LOLZ is all there really is to say. atleast they are finally, sorta, kinda admitting that 99.99% of their user base is basically helpless and retarded. i'm sure the sheeple are still eating this up like the good little sheep they are.

avatar

Raver

Hey, Sheeple need a brand too.

avatar

Wily_One

" If Apple is trying to position its products as the perfect companion for the clueless masses... "

Well, that IS their target market.

avatar

stradric

This.

Macs are made to appeal to inept users, people that want a fashion accessory and creative gurus. The creative guru market is already locked as well as the fashion crowd. The inept users need someone to tell them what to buy, so these ads are targeted right at them. These are the same people that buy "for Dummies" books -- people that willfully admit that they're dummies.

The issue is, will Apple embracing the notion that their products are for dummies hurt the notion that they are a cool fashion accessory? Maybe.

and as far as for the commercials ? Stupid is not the only word that comes to mind.

You don't think Linux offers any interesting consumer advantages? Why the hate?!? Joking of course. My intent is not to dump on Linux, I use it part time as well, but it will never be the mainstream choice. Its not a fault of the operating system, just the marketing and OEM support.

avatar

DarkMatter

Well lets just fire the marketing department and teach these OEM support people where the action is. As for the mainstream part.. I think Linux is more mainstream than we give it credit for .. granted on the desktop it is more cloaked than in the mobile market. HELL MacOSX uses BSD underpinnings ( not linux true ) However I digress. The whole marketing thing just amplifies how dumb they ( Apple/Microsoft) think we are.

avatar

0ly1r3m@1ns

sorry but Ubuntu IS a valid Linux distro for Consumers now, its easier to set up than windows, has the retard friendliness of a mac with the shear power and customization of any other debian based distro.

avatar

Taffer

Someone's never tried to install a WIFI card in Ubuntu before.

avatar

PsychNerd

Linux IS viable. I hate to say this, but it basically is true. There are a few limitations at this moment. Here are those limitations and the answer is clear, greater users would generate solutions. Let's take them step by step.

1. Driver support, as Taffer, pointed out is limited. Graphics cards, wi-fi adapters suffer completely. Any new chipset and features such as USB 3.0 take a while to get integrated into the kernel.

A. A larger pool of users would force R&D companies to simultaneously develop Linux drivers at the same rate or risk loosing market share. Basic supply and demand.

2. Gaming support. Right now few games run on Linux, or at least run well. Linux has the bigger advantage when it comes to hardware because the OS is trimmer.

A. Gaming companies would fund more R&D into research into this area if gamers demanded it and stopped buying Win & OS games. This would also yield better results because of the lower workloads Linux places on hardware freeing up more raw CPU & GPU power for actual gaming rather than background processes.

3. Netflix. Moonlight, Silverlight's debian equivalent sucks.

A. Either Netflix would have to change what it uses, offer an additional platform, or rights would have to be bought from MS to develop a Linux version. This could be done through donations.

4. Support. There is not enough qualified support at companies for when things go wrong with Linux. Like anything man-made linux has flaws.

A. This would be the more difficult of the problems. It takes a lot of time to train people to support anything so completely different than they are used to.

The benefits of Linux though are enormous. The biggest in my opinion though are the different number of custom tailored distros for most any situation.

For new users my favorites are:

Linux Mint
PinguyOS
Ubuntu

All are pretty easy to use. And if you have a problem, google the solutions. There are a TON of forums out there that help people resolve their problems. After a few times with shell commands, it's that that difficult at all. Using Linux forums is as easy as using Microsoft knowledge base.

Installing Linux could not be easier, and most (95%+) is completely free, the rest is nominal fee to use. All the major programs you will ever need are free... office software, accounting software, music software, games, engineering software, CAD software... it's endless. If you have not tried Linux before you owe it to yourself. I'm a dual boot guy myself Win 7/Ubuntu. I've gotten best friend's grandma who's in a nursing home addicted to Ubuntu. She even teaches the other residents how to use it. She has a total blast.

avatar

aarcane

I do this routinely. Never have I installed a supported card that didn't go perfectly seamlessly. In general the install process is even easier than it is on windows or mac.

If you want a real challenge, try installing a custom wifi card on mac osx. get a Killer NIC, and see how your mac likes it.

avatar

tekknyne

Congrats, your statement is -technically- true. Thank you for that contribution.

Thanks Apple, but you're not the only one relegating Amuurcanns to useless consumers. Our political process is doing a great job of that too. Are you trying to help or something?
