AOC Announces Slim 23-inch Monitor for Fans of Flicker Free 3D
AOC sent us a note informing us of its newly released e2352Phz, a slim HD 23-inch monitor that delivers flicker-free 3D. It uses Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) technology intended to deliver brighter, crisper images with less eye-fatiguing funkiness, like flickering and ghosting. It's a plug-and-play panel that also includes an HDMI 1.4a input for your Blu-ray player, Xbox 360, or PlayStation 3 console.
"AOC’s new flicker-free 3D monitor lets you experience what 3D was meant to be – with clear, bright and vivid images that make your display come to life," said Robert Velez, AOC Marketing Manager. "Whether you are gaming on your computer or watching your favorite movie, this high quality 23-inch monitor can’t be beat in terms of value, features and price point."
The panel comes with two pairs of lightweight passive polarized glasses that work with the e2352Phz or any other FPR 3D display. It supports a Full HD 1920x1080 resolution, 250 cd/m2 brightness, 5ms response time, and 20,000,000:1 contrast ratio (dynamic, of course). There's also a pair of 2W speakers built into the monitor.
You can purchase the monitor now for $299.

Ugh, 16x9? This makes it the same as all the other monitors that are 16x9 at 1920x1080. I want a fully immersive experience. Give me 16x10 at 3840x2400!!!!!!!!!!!!! The clean flicker-free 3D is just the icing on the cake. Right now aspect ratio and resolution is more important in a world of 16x9 1080p... Ugh, everything is the same, and nobody wants to be innovative.
