Another Good Reason to Always Shut Your Computer Down at Night
The Dallas Cowboys just can't seem to get a grip on this whole technology thing. In a preseason game against the Tennessee Titans last month, Dallas' 180 foot long HD screen blocked a punt by the Titans, a play which isn't reviewable under current NFL rules. Moving the screen could cost millions of dollars, so the solution for the time being is to do nothing.
Fast forward and the Cowboys once again take center stage in this week's giant screen fail, only this time there were no punts involved. Instead, a scrolling banner let everyone in attendance know the eggheads behind the scenes had encountered an error and didn't shut down properly. Or maybe it's a really good Photochop. Either way, it's fun to laugh at the Cowboys. That is, unless you're a Lions fan, in which case there's nothing at all funny about the NFL.

This is very possible. I work for a professional baseball team and we have led ribbon boards. The boards are setup as a 2nd windows display. Say you moved your mouse all the way to the right, as if you were going onto another display:it would be put out onto the ribbon board. Therefore if windows ever crashed or an error message ever came up, it would go out to the boards.

Actually this thing is possible, I remember seeing part of a BSOD at the local science and tech museum on one of their digital displays similar to the Cowboys one... it was a for a mock NASA setup and it had one of those tickers that going across the top of the 20 foot wide setup.

Of course it's not reviewable, it's a dead ball and they replay the down. If they get to do it over, what's the point of a review?
The video board can be raised and lowered as is; it won't cost anything let alone "millions." They have to raise it for the upcoming U2 concert in October. Think about it. Would you like to service the thing while hanging from it by a harness or off of a lift or crane?
Besides, the NFL approved the placement of the screen in the first place, stating that they thought it was high enough so the problem isn't solely on Jerry Jones and the Cowboys.

That looks very fake. The long space after the 'if'. The blackness of the display...

Yeah, there's no way that is real. You're not going to get Windows error messages on an LCD display like that because it's not the main display for the computer.
