So analysts are making judgment calls on the latest technology.  Interesting.  They wouldn't happen to have a vested interest in ensuring that Apple's stock continues to rise now would they?  Don't get me wrong; the iPad 2 is simply brilliant and certainly stands on its own but to declare Honeycomb as being too difficult to use is simply asinine.

"iPad 2 is simply brilliant" - agreed. It's certainly not the device for me, but I wont deny the fact that it IS a very impressive piece of work...and the price point is very reasonable imho

That's what they say about windows, but any one with half a brain cell can run it. Apple tech products for dummies!

Google sucks! Why don't they stick to web search!

No offence but that's just silly.  Android is a brilliant OS just as iOS is as well.  They both have their strengths and weaknesses.

Comparing one tablet to another is NOT apples to oranges.  Neither is comparing a Mac to a PC, but we do it all the time.  A tablet is a tablet, regardless of how it's internal OS performs.

My point is this: The iPad does not define what a tablet is or should be. In the same way, an apple does not define what a fruit is...neither does an orange. Yes, Apple was the first major player to launch a tablet. They created their product the way they wanted to. But just because another company decides to go a different route when making a tablet doesn't mean their tablet is inferior or "complicated and confusing". Different devices suit different consumers. One man's "complicated and confusing" is another man's "customizable and limitless"...and vice-versa.

I think pointing to Honeycomb as the culprit may be a very closed minded view as there are many reasons people are not flocking to the motorola Xoom. First there is no WiFi version at the moment and not everyone wants a contract with Verison or AT&T at this moment; then there is the fact that a device with a built in SD card reader happens to not have this feature functional which I think is the dumbest thing I have ever heard or; there is also the fact that most people are use to Apple products and tend to read to many articles like this one without doing the research and test themselves and end up avoiding what could have been the perfect product for them and stick with what's in at the moment. Last but not least the Xoom is not exactly cheap either. Considering you have to have a contract with AT&T or Verizon at this time in order to get one I can see how the price and contract can easily scare most potential buyers.

This guys opinion is definitely poorly thought out as he is likely an iPad owner and is not being bias on his opinion.

There also appears to be a design issue with the Xoom as well.  The A/C adapter Jack/plug is tiny tiny tiny!  When I bought my iPad last week, the sales person said they had already broken a few of them.

It looks like a very weak design.

That's not good.  I may have to wait and see how the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 rates in comparison before making a decision.

I may be doing the same thing. If not, I think I'll go with the Wifi only version...or maybe the G-Slate...there will be so many options :-D

After much deliberation...

We have decided that the Xoom is not like the iPad.  Really, you don't say?  I would've never guessed that.

C'mon people.  As jroid said previously, stop comparing apples to oranges.  It's not meant to be like the iPad.  Yes, it's going to be different.  Once you get the Apple layout and fuctionality out of your head, you'll see that Hontycomb is just as good, in my opinion better, than IOS.  If iPad is all you know, then Honeycomb isn't going to make a lick of sense, because it's not IOS.  Spend more than two weeks with the Xoom and then give a fair assessment with no biases.

That is all.

This Trip Chowdry character has probably been using an iPad since the first one came out last year. He's gotten used to the look and feel of it...of course he's going to dislike Honeycomb. Him and every other "tech analyst" out there need to stop comparing apples to oranges. The eWeek article says Honeycomb "will be relegated to the geek tech community". Didn't analysts say the same thing about Android a few years ago? Last time I checked, Andoid phones weren't doing too bad sales wise.

Well, that kind of works out, since I'm part of the geek tech community... :)
