And here's where it gets interesting. I'm not a fan boy for either side. I would imagine though that most non hardcore folks are going to have a tough decision ahead of them.

For me there are 3 cards I would consider that are currently in my "comfortable" price range.

There's the 660TI, The 7870, and the 7950. I honestly don't think that with the current price of the 660TI that it's even in the running. It's a close race with perform against the 7870 and the 7870 is at least 60 dollars cheaper currently at almost all vendors. The 7950 is essentially the same price and outperforms the 660ti.

Who cares about price cuts, where the hell is the 7990!

That's what I want to know as well. A 7970 is nice, but I want to upgrade to the 7990.

I plan on upgrading to one of those quad-HD monitors floating around on eBay, and the world is slowly upgrading to resolutions above 1920*1080 (after over 3 years of stagnation), and that requires all the GPU power that I can get.

2 in one is better than 1 here.
