They need to switch over to a quad channel memory controller along with actually improving the performance. Right now the only thing that is keeping them afloat is probably the graphics division and APU products. I can't imagine them staying in business for long if they don't get their collective heads out of their asses and start designing and building CPU's that actually perform.

you guys and your benchmarks are so distracted from what AMD is doing and how they stay relevant. Providing low priced chips that offer comparable performance (albeit lower performance) all the while providing an easy upgrade path... Yes i'd love to run intel's new chips but i'm strapped for cash and when i build i look into the future so that my machine can still game and crunch video with the best of them. Intel's history of new chip's not being backwards compatible hurts them (and helps AMD) in my book. Thank you AMD for doing what you do best. My CPU (AMD 955) performs great. It does everything i need it to.
