AMD Catalyst 11.10 Version 3 Preview Driver Fixes Rage (Again)
Try chanting, "At least it's not Duke Nukem Forever" the next time you fire up Rage and notice any graphical glitches. Screen tearing, popping, texture corruption, and other ugly problems have plagued Rage's release on the PC, but hey, it's more fun to play than DNF, has prettier graphics, and you didn't sit around a decade-and-a-half waiting for it, so there all that going for it. There are also driver updates that are supposed to smooth things out, including AMD's new Catalyst 11.10 Version 3 Preview Driver.
AMD has already released a Rage Performance Driver, and this update adds a even more fixes. It's supposed to reduce random crashing and stability issues while playing Rage on a 32-bit build of Windows 7, reduces object and animation flickering, texture corruption, and stuttering (on dual-core and tri-core systems), fixes flickering with NPCs, enables automatic Vsync, and more.
The Preview Driver also improves performance in the Battlefield 3 Open Beta release with Radeon HD 4000, 5000, and 6000 series videocards.
Release notes and down link are here.

If your not having probs with 11.10pre2 don't go updating 11.10pre3 borks it with texture loading not working so end up with black and white scenes

Hooray, 16 days after a game I preordered launches, I can finally play the damn thing!
And it turns out it isn't any better than DNF. It's prettier, but that's the only thing it has going for it, and just as with people, "prettier" doesn't make a game "better."
I would like to thank id and Bethesda for making this collossal cluster**** to remind me why preordering is a terrible idea. Did they even test it against ATI cards?

I feel your pain, got DNF for 10dollars on steam and the game just came out and found it was worth it see a blast from the past. Almost got Rage because of all the hipe and to get the extra that came with it to preorder. ID had to make a wad of cash on this one with 60 dollar a pop. I wonder if they will be so lucky next time the release a game with this much hipe maybe that why? why ask why? HA!!! Thats why!

i honestly liked DNF "just enough" to finish it. i doubt ill ever finish rage.
but i do have to say, on an nvidia card and still on the v1.0 right off the disc, ive never had any trouble with the game.. othat than its just not that good of a game. i do like being able to keep all my guns oldschool quake/ doom style though.
hey i know! lets make borderlands!.. but you know, with crappier driving, no rpg elements, and overall more annoying and less fun! great idea!
-im more bummed than most as i have every major ID game on a special shelf in my comp room. Wold3d all the way up to quake4. i feel cheated with rage :(

Your bashing Duke Nukem again, no problem but name at least one releavnt title ID released in the last 5 years that took the industry by storm and was actualy great. Go ahead, I'll wait. Duke was awful , but all the fixes in the world won't make this game any good. THe hype around this game was enourmous and I believe that's what keeping this game alive; Hype Life Support"!! I've actually begun playing over Borderlands and New Vegas to get an actual wasteland feel. Ithink Maximum PC really needs to call out this game as it is, Rubbish!! Thank the heavens I borrowed and didn't buy this!!!

cool. Maybe ID learned a good lesson, maybe send a copy of the game to AMD and Nvidia befor releasing a PC game, but I do agree that ID could have a done better job programing RAGE to support current GPU drivers and not have to fix them latter. Maybe later drivers could have improved performance but it seems that their could of been better communication between the two. Hopefully this was not part of an evil plan to slap PC gaming again. Time will tell if the new gaming engine works out for the better for everyone.

How lazy can AMD get?
1. They try to fill their CPUs with a million cores and gets crushed by Intel's 4-core 2500k.
2. They are lazy with graphics drivers and don't care about crashes until it crashes on them.
2. Their website sucks. I needed to get ATI drivers for a old PC and they didn't have Win95 drivers. Too sad it was on the mobo. Later I saw the drivers on Intel's site even though the PC used a AMD K6 266MHz. Now this PC runs Linux.

For real? I hope you're talking about an experience years ago.

Obviously I don't or I wouldn't have made such a comment. Even a cheap used computer for $100 would have better specs then a 266 MHz running Win95. Like Nimrod stated, you're an idiot to even expect someone to support drivers for an OS that's over a decade old.

HOLY SHIT THIS IS FUCKING DUMB XD
Please name ONE, JUST ONE hardware vendor that supports drivers for windows 95 any more. I mean hell, maybe AMD should support Windows 3.1 or the Apple Lisa while their at it. If you want those kinds of drivers go get them on a specilty web site, dont be dumb enought to think that AMD is going to clutter up their website with shit for Win 95. Does 95 even have support an internet connection? lol

It shouldn't be ATI's job to fix rage. Fucking iD and their shitty games and lazy fucking devs. They have been irrelevant for years and continue to be irrelevant.

"It shouldn't be ATI's job to fix rage."
Who said it was ATI's Job to fix rage? As far as i know, driver incompatabilities occur in alot of games, especially at launch. Yea, the game is clusterf*** right now, but it will be fixed. There are sooo many other things in life to do than sit here, and get butt hurt over a damn video game. seriously...
"They have been irrelevant for years and continue to be irrelevant."
Why? Because you say so?
