Brutal, I have to pick up a Fire in the near future. Why couldn't late June/early July have been the release date for the second version?

Kindle is a great size and good device for my needs. Run ICS on it as well. I do miss Amazon Video streaming and the fact that for whatever reason Android apps don't sync with wispersync automagically as they should. May go back to stock if I pick up a Nexus 7.

Love my current Kindle Fire, but only after installing a barebones version of Android on it (Cyanogenmod 7). Can't stand the custom Amazon OS.

Will give Cyanogenmod it a try, thanks. Looks like the Kindle Fire is NOT a officially supported device tho..
