Acer Wants a Slice of the Windows Phone 7 Pie
We're already two months into 2011, but this could end up being a make-or-break year for the relatively new Windows Phone 7 platform. Acer's betting on the former and has plans to launch several WP7 devices sometime this year, as well as new Android models, says Aymar de Lencquesaing, president of Acer's Smart Handheld Business Group. Clump it all together and Acer reckons it will ship several million smartphones before the year is up.
Right now most of the focus is on the Liquid mini and beTouch E210, both of which Acer showed at the Mobile World Congress conference. The challenge for Acer will be in attracting a wider audience in North America, where it has had a tough time competing with heavyweights like HTC and Samsung. It also doesn't help that Acer doesn't offer CDMA models in North America, at least not yet.
Look for Acer to launch between 7 and 10 new smartphone models each year.

I happen to like my Windows MoPho 7. Got the phone for half the price of IPhone or Android and does everything I want and as far as I can tell is capable of matching or exceeding anything the others have to offer.
