Acer Preps 3D Laptop For October Launch

Acer is planning to launch a 15.6-inch notebook which will support full 3D at the end of October, according to Campell Kan, Acer’s Vice President of the Mobile Computing Business Unit.
The notebook, which has been developed with Wistron, will come with built-in software that can convert 2D movies to 3D, and will fully support 3D movies. Users will be required to wear stereoscopic glasses for the 3D to work, but Acer is working on a model that will remove the need for these.
Since the machine will come with Windows 7, Acer is holding off on their release and pricing information until Microsoft starts shipping the OS.

This was very interested and informative. However, you neglected to mention Autodesk's products (Inventor, AutoCAD, Showcase), which seems to be an oversight. Also, at Autodesk University I recently heard of a new 3D holographic technology that could be used in place of 3D printing. Not sure if it has a place in this article but thought I would mention it. Overall a very nice and effective job.

No, No guys, this laptop is designed for nVidia's stereo 3d tech. It is for games in 3d. I use it personally, and it works great!

Funny, that 3d would be great for porn, but nobody seems to like HD porn.
I'll hold my judgement until the reviews come out (you are going to review this, right guys?)

Good example of just because you can do something doesn't necessarily mean you should do something. I guess if it's only for watching 3D movies sure, but not 100% 3D all the time I hope. Unless the keyboard is vomit proof.
