A Fourth Gaming Console Emerges to Target Budget Market
Zeebo, backed by Qualcomm, announced a new device it's calling the "fourth video game console." But don't worry if you're a console collector, the Zeebo console probably won't ever see the light of day in the U.S. and is instead being targeted at middle-class buyers in emerging markets.
Referring to the middle-class consumers of the so-called BRIC nations -- Brazil, Russia, India, and China -- Zeebo Chief Executive John Rizzo said "A console for these markets has got to be affordable."
To keep costs down and cut back on rampant piracy, the Zeebo will not use a disc or other fixed media, and instead employs a Qualcomm chipset to allow gamers to connect wirelessly to purchase and download games. The onboard flash memory can store about 50 games, Rizzo said.
Other specs include an ARM 11 / QDSP-5 running at 528MHz, 128MB of DDR memory, VGA (640 x 480) output, three USB 2.0 ports, and an SD card slot.
The Zeebo console will first be available in Brazil for $199, with pricing expected to drop to $150 within the year.

A personal
computer game (also known as a computer game or simply PC game) is a game
played on a personal computer, rather than on a video game console or arcade
machine. Computer games have evolved from the simple graphics and gameplay of
early titles like Spacewar!, to a wide range of more visually advanced titleshttp://www.r4-ds-karte.de/

hmmm who wants S-Video when there's a VGA connection?
Here's a recap on Analog video conections:
Composite: A single connector moving all the information (yellow phono jack)
S-Video: Dual connectors that move Chroma and Lumen separately
Component: triple connectors that move Luma on one line and Chroma spilt over two.
VGA (called RGBHV by video professionals who use it a lot): Five connectors: Blue, Red, Green, Horizontal sync and vertical sync.

Looking at the hardware it maybe able to play pong and pacman. They can set it up to download and play old Atari and SNES Roms.
That is a little overpriced for it's hardware. I would just go get a PS2 and have fun.
Are these being manufactured here in the states and distrubuted to the 3rd world this could be construed as an act of war.

the original Xbox was fantastic graphically. Microsoft did a good job. It's the only console from that generation i liked.
