$100 Bill Receives 3D Makeover
Apparently even the U.S. Treasury is getting caught up in the 3D hype sweeping the tech industry. Don't believe it? Take at peek at the new $100 note, now with a 3D security ribbon.
"When holding the note, tilt it back and forth while focusing on the blue ribbon," Newmoney.gov instructs during a virtual tour of the bill. "You will see the bells change to 100s as they move. When you tilt the note back and forth, the bells and 100s move side to side. If you tilt it side to side, they move up and down."
According to Newmoney.gov, the 3D ribbon comes woven into the paper rather than printed on top of it and is just one of several new security features, such as raised printing on Benjamin Franklin's shoulder, and a color changing inkwell and bell.

More like receiving a gay makeover. God that thing is ugly. Could they at least have made the 3D strip green?

Tested pr not, I predict it will be hacked within a year and the hacked product will probably be preferred for use with hookers.

I wonder if they test all these techonogies in real world conditions like having a spin in the washer/dryer. Cold and wet, then hot and damp could have an interesting affect on this bill. Just a thought.

oh yeah, they sure do. Read an article a while back when the new $5 was last released. They spent years developing the "paper" material. And they still are.

I'm sure they do. Besides, all money is (used to snort coke off a hooker's ass at some point) is made with cotton, so it stands up in the wash and even when wet. But it makes sense that they'd put the bills through some testing before they enter circulation.
