U.S. Senators Urge EC to Approve Oracle-Sun Deal

Again, so far as I know Oracle has no equivalent to Microsoft's free SQL express.

MySQL is pretty limited, as has a number of issues. Who better than Oracle to fix them? But so far, it seems as if Oracle has failed to position MySQL as a SQL Express alternative. They seem to insist that it will be "hands-off." I'm sure Oracle is being honest, but it would be like the EU to not beleive them. But the last thing MySQL needs is a hands-off attitude. The sooner MySQL can reach the efficiency and power of SQL Server express, the better.
