Report: AOL Finally Dumps Bebo
At long last, it looks as though AOL has finally found a buyer for Bebo, the social network AOL planned to take behind the shed and put two in the head.
While nothing is yet official, Mashable feels pretty confident that its "sources close to the deal" are right on the money with this one. The buyer is apparently Criterion Capital Partners, which is a hedge fund, and it's anyone's guess what the future holds for Bebo.
AOL originally purchased Bebo for $850 million two years ago. Back in April, word spread that AOL would almost certainly shut down the social networking site if it couldn't find a buyer, and find one soon. Mission accomplished.
