Microsoft's Shutting Down Its In-Game Advertising Division

It’s not a Kin sized failure, but Microsoft is still pulling the plug on Massive, the in-game advertising company they scooped up back in 2006. For those who don’t remember past what they had for breakfast, Massive was devoted to selling in-game advertising tiles that had the ability to update over time, even long after the games release. It was a way that developers could tap into additional sources of revenue, along with keeping city based games more realistic. It turns out the main problem with Massive’s strategy was just how easy their product was to duplicate.
The primary customer was Electronic Arts which just recently began its own in-game ad unit which shipped as part of Madden NFL 2011. Other attempts to blend their marketing team into the Xbox dashboard failed since Microsoft already had resources devoted to selling space within Live. The 80 man division will be absorbed into other parts of Microsoft, with the exception of General Manager JJ Richard who is reportedly seeking employment elsewhere.
It sounded like a solid enough idea, but it looks like they missed the patent boat on this one.

My name's Jim; I'm 34, 6 foot, average build and looks, mature sex single, footloose and fancy-free. I'm a doctor – specialising in orthopaedics free porn movies in a private clinic in London. I have also never seen her dressed animal porn in anything other than a frilly white, loose-fitting blouse, home porn video which is always buttoned up to the collar, and a mid-shin free amateur porn videos length black, pleated skirt. This ensemble is free porn complemented by what look like thick black tights mobile porn and a sensible pair of sturdy shoes. The more i study psychology, propaganda, advertising and mind control the more i realize just how disgusting and destructive these types of advertisements are. Funny then that the first post in this article was that GD spammer. Is there no way for you guys to to just mass bann the DNS that all of this crap is coming from. I personally find the fake product adverts in games to be charming. I already dont buy very many games because of how shitty most of them are now days. If those adverts get more popular you can expect a grater degree of protest from me and lots of others. In the end, that hurts both developers and consumers. I could give a shit less about the people who want to advertise in games. They can go to hell in a handbasket for all I care. I just started playing Doom3 all the way thru for the first time since i got it when it came out. Yeah, im pretty sure those golden arches would completly ruin Carmacks genious environments.
And BTW, fix your damn comments form. My curcer disappears, my firefox spellchek doesnt work in it and you cant paste text from Word without is displaying all of the damn code. This is really really bad. On top of it all, you havent even stopped the damn spam with the annoying CAPTCHA. Your form oviously has some sort of vulnerability that these people are sploiting because i dont see this crap on any other web site besides MaxPC

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed with MaxPC on the comments. It's really not that hard to fix. Just put a restriction on new accounts preventing them for posting comments for a month or two. Also, filter out usernames containing the word shop or ".com" or limit the number of times you can say "shirt" or "shoes" in the same comment.
