Logitech Announces Shipment of 100 Millionth Wireless Mouse
Logitech, like McDonalds of long ago, can now claim "over 100 million served," only Logitech is referring to wireless mouse shipments and not the number of flipped burgers.
"Logitech mice have played an integral role in improving the computing experience for millions of people, and our wireless mice build on that heritage," said Rory Dooley, Logitech senior vice president and general manager of the Control Devices business unit. "Today, our wireless mice deliver a robust feature set combined with unparalleled ease of use and precision. And the new mice we offer in a variety of colors and patterns provide consumers with an element of self expression while they use their laptop and mouse to seamlessly navigate their favorite content."
For those of you who like a little history thrown in with your milestone news, Logitech points out that it introduced the world's first radio-frequency (RF) rodent for PCs back in 1991, sparking a revolution of many more IR-based mice to follow.
What do you use as your primary mouse? Tell us in the comments section below!

I recently switched from my Kensington Expert Mouse (trackball) to a Logitech Performance MX wireless to see if it makes my hand and wrist feel any better. So far, it's a wash but I do really like the Performance MX and will be using it with the laptop in the future and probably switch back to a trackball for the desktop. The biggest mouse improvement for me has been to switch to a teflon mouse pad - the mouse is way easier to slide about!

...except for cell phones is idiotic. Why not just give all your personal info to the bad guys. It's a lot harder to hack a wire than to hack a wireless signal. I'm kind of surprised that anyone buys wireless devices.
Wasn't good ole Google just busted for using their street view camera cars to tap into every wireless network in reach? You can safely bet that cracking WPA2 security is like popping a balloon for Google. MaxPC ran an article about a month ago about some kid in Japan cracking WPA2 in 13 seconds or something. Now if I were to see that same kid outside my house, trying to tap into my WIRED connections, you can bet that me, him and my baseball bat are gonna have a serious conversation.
Oh yeah, the CLOUD is gonna have the same issues. It never ceases to amaze me just how stupid consumers can be and what NEW load of cr*p they will buy into.

Hello Lhot, I mean no disrespect but why are people so afraid of getting a breach in their security. Yes, it is a terible & costly problem if someone can steal our Identity but the odds of that happening are really poor if we protect ourselves and use some common sense. I always have argued with my Mother In-law about the Boggie-man and how he is going to get her. You have to live a little in life and as someone like you that enjoys technology, don't be afraid of "wireless anything" Good luck & be well.

I use a simple Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000. Very basic, but gets the job done and never had any issues with it whatsoever. Would love to have a RAT though.

I use Logitech's VX Nano mouse for notebooks. It's great, I like it. Planning on getting Logitech's Anywhere Mouse MX when my Nano dies, and eventually I'll get the G9x (when I build my own rig). I've had good experience with Logitech mouses.

I ordered a logitech headphone/mic and the wires it was built with are like something that would come with a $5 radio. Shorted out in no time and I look out for my stuff. Got a LOT of $$$ tied up in it.
Logi? NEVER AGAIN!

Well, until last fall I had been using the mouse that came with my then-venerable MX3000 desktop (I couldn't tell you what modle the mouse was at this point, needless to say it's several years old I know it was excellent at the time though and near-top of the line).
But sadly, after years of faithful use and occasional drops, it started going insane, and had to be put down. Fortunately I found an LX8 that was compatible with the mx3000's reciever *few* and while it lacks the text zoom buttons, and I'd prefer to have the forward and back buttons under one thumb instead of one on each side; it fits my big mits well enough (plus is ambidextrous unlike the old one) without having to drop >$120 on a whole new desktop and dump a perfectly servicable keyboard.
Of course, I'm more a writer than a gamer (the newst game I play is Civ IV or Armada II: Fleet Ops) so there's a limit to the number of buttons or functions I need or want on my mouse.

The mouse wheel click on my Deathadder stopped working after only 8 months. Other than that, it's fine.

I'll get this started -- I primarily use a Razer DeathAdder (wired).
