Full Circle: Official Minecraft Legos on the Way

Minecraft, if you ask us, is one of the absolute easiest games to explain to non-gamers. While we often awkwardly stumble through Fallout (“...and the best part is, uh, when you get chased around by giant scorpions while wearing armor that may as well be made of 'Kick me' signs!”) and don't even bother with Call of Duty (“Er, some of the commercials are neat”), Minecraft's a quick, simple “Legos for grown-ups.” But -- now that Minecraft Legos for tiny-block-swallowing youths are on the way -- we might have to come up with something a bit more creative. 

“Seeing LEGO Minecraft sets is also our dream, so we linked to one of the projects. It’s clear to us that there are many creative people with good ideas for this and we want to throw our own hat into the ring and start this project to bring the best LEGO Minecraft builders together,” Mojang wrote on Lego's community page.

“Minecraft is about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine in the virtual world. You can build anything you imagine with LEGO bricks in the physical world. Minecraft and LEGO were meant to be together.”

Mojang needs 10,000 community supporters to get official backing -- which shouldn't be much of an issue, seeing as it's already halfway there. And the royalties from this project responsible for the world's largest simultaneous exclamation of “I want that!” since the invention of kleptomania? All going to charity. Granted, it's a measly one percent of total sales, but hey, Rome wasn't built in a day. Well, OK, a few Minecraft recreations of Rome might have been, but that's not the point.
