First In-Game Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Trailer Drops Dragons, Jaws
Oh jeez, oh man, oh wow, dragon yeti fires, golly gee. Er, we've just watched the brand new trailer for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, you see, and we're (wow) having trouble (awesome) stopping ourselves from (excellent) interspersing our sentences with expressions of delight. Wait, there we go. Ok, it stopped. (Fantastic!) Damn it, never mind. Check out the (amazing) full thing after the break. Hey, it sort of made sense that time.

1920 X 1080 is a snap. Even true HD like 1920 X 1200 is easy. I am running 5760 X 1200 (three 24" 1920 X 1200 monitors) using a pair of GTX 580's. Even running at that resolution it has handled anytrhing I ask it to do. I would think that a 570 running a single 1080p monitor would not even break a sweat.

so i want to build a new pc but im wondering if i should wait till it gets closer to novembe or just build one now. Im considering using the new intel sandy bridge CPUs and Nvidia 570 graphics cards in SLI. Any thoughts on if this system will last and still be able to run Skyrim at 1900x1080?

Geez, Sandy Bridge is THE BOMB! Nothing compares with it, nothing. Add an SSD drive and it is the best machine I have ever owned. The 2600K O/C with a vengence 4.3 GHz and yet runs cool. I am running SB with GTX 580 and 2560 x1440 monitor and it bogs down on nothing I have thrown at it yet...
Sandy Bridge is a must....

Yes i considered that, but will a sandy bridge system still perform well with battlefield 3? And will Intel keep changing the sockets? Im gonna wait till closer to November before buying a graphics card.
Damn Moore's Law...

I'd be skeptical of Sandy Bridge right now with the current issue. Id honestly wait until parts have been released w/no major bugs. I'm rocking an AM3 Phenom II x4 BE. I've been able to put the extra money I saved going w/camp AMD in to my GPUs.
TBH, I'd go with an AM3 Phenom II x4 or x6, 8GB DDR3 and then your GPU of choice.
GPU is going to matter more than a CPU anyway for a game like that. And you'll get more GPU if you budget correctly. Not to mention sticking an AM3 motherboard gives you a nice long upgrade path when comparing AMD and Intel CPU lines. Thats something else you should consider. When upgrade time rolls around, do you want to have to replace everything, or just one part when you want a faster CPU?

thanks for the reply. I was considering going with an AMD Phenom II X6 1090T BE. Its 6 cores @ 3.2GHz and its cheaper than the sandy bridge quad cores.

Good idea, and reviews have shown that a CPU with extra cores perform better than a faster CPU with fewer cores.

I need to go grab my copy of Oblivion and start that up again. Inever actually finished it :P
Anyway, this looks so amazing. As always, just when I say I won't spend anymore money on games for awhile, something awesome comes out.

I haven't finished either. My goal is to have the game finished by the time ES5 comes out. I just finished the shivering isles expansion. Its funny how many characters from previous games cross over in to the newer ones!

graphics graphics graphics. I'm more interested about the gameplay. What new features does it bring compared to Oblivion, what changed, what was removed?

I totally agree, really great music in all Elder Scrolls. I do not think game developers sometimes realize how important that is. For example, if you play Civ 5 can you recall anything about the music? Boooooring, may as well turn your speakers off.

Wow, The Elder Scrolls has come a long way since the days of the first DOS game. I can't wait to get my hands on it. Finally a game that will crush my 2 5770's and leave them whimpering in the corner and begging to stop.

If I'm not mistaken, they're using a whole new engine which I hope will be a major improvement from the awful Gamebryo engine. I'll probably be able to run this with high detail (or probably max w/ no AA).
