Bethesda: Skyrim DLC Releases will “Have A Lot of Meat on Them”
Skyrim's got more adventure in one Mudcrab than most games have in their entire worlds, but that hasn't stopped some players from clamoring for a second absurdly heaping helping. Fortunately – equine fashion faux pas aside – Bethesda's DLC track record is more hit than miss. Skyrim, the developer assures, won't be bucking that trend.
"[We're focusing on] ways to make the game better, not just have more, because the game is so big,” game director Todd Howard told Joystiq. “So we're going through ideas right now, and processing everything people are doing in the game, and trying to think of ways that we can improve it."
"[We] don't have a timetable. They won't be quick, and they'll have a lot of meat on them."
On a rather different (and completely awesome) note, he also added that Skyrim's rash of unsolved bucket-related crimes won't be coming to an end any time soon. "I think our favorite really is putting the buckets on the heads," he said. “Our lead programmer is pissed and wants to fix it, and I said I'm not sure we should. That's one of those where maybe we leave it in."
Excellent. Now then, fingers crossed for the obvious next step: bucket armor. It renders you almost completely invisible to NPCs even as you steal the clothes right off their backs. Well, except Mudcrabs. They see all things. Also, they sort of, you know, don't wear clothes.

ok, I know this is a single player game and it always has been and I like it. But to have a co-op with one other person would be great! (or even 2 or more, but I'm not greedy)

Even having one person play with you would seriously overpower the game. It's already too easy with the difficulty maxed out. Just imagine your friend, with equally uber gear and intelligence much greater than that of the AI (well, hopefully). They'd have to do some serious rebalancing of the game. Not saying I don't disagree, I would love 2 person co-op, but it doesn't seem realistic without major work on their end.

Wait a minute, DLC for a neverending game? Isn't that kind of...redundant (not too sure how to describe it)? Knowing Bethesda's reputation since Oblivion, they always release one or two initial patches to try and fix major issues and then announce they'll release DLC and never look back.

I think they should worry more about fixing some major bugs and game play issues before sticking a lot of time into DLC. I'm still seeing some major graphical glitches and experiencing the random crash to desktop or while using alt+tab. Sometimes textures fail to load until I restart the game. If I turn shadows on Ultra things turn invisible like spider webs or dragons. Some of the interior effects and shadows are horrible. The shadows from the fire in my Whiterun home look horrible. Also see the shadows from Radiant Rainment and you'll know what I'm talking about. Sure, there might be some tweak I could do with the .ini file but one shouldn't have to screw around so much just to fix some obvious flaws.

I want two things. The contruction set, and more multithreading. Seriously Bethesda, you make a new engine, and it only uses 2 threads? WTF? Most of my hyperthreaded i7 is going to waste!

Can we get the SUPER HD tree texture pack?
I don't care about anything but Perfectly rendered tree's in Skyrim and all the mods so far make the trees look better......but not good enough.

What should be a priority is fixing what has to be one of the worst user interfaces in PC gaming history.

I wouldn't call it the worse ever, that's going a bit far. I would call it different. I really didn't care for it when I started playing because of how different it was from Oblivion, but I'm used to it now and it's not that bad. I actually like the favorites thing so I can mark my main gear or things I equip often. The only thing I really miss is being able to sort my inventory by value or weight.

not sure about worst ever, personally the interface never bothered me and was pretty suprised by all the whining about it. But to each thier own. I've tried one of the popular interface mods, for about 5 mins then had to remove it....

true. a modder might fix that however. Oblivion still had a poor interface, which was fixed by modders.
