I have been to both ebay and amazon since installing hotspot and have not been redirected.

Have you noticed the nice new ad banner you get at the top of your browser window courtesy of hotspot shield?

Adware sucks. If I had known that was part of the deal I would not have installed it.  Now I wonder if it will let me uninstall it...  THanks for doing your homework before recommending adware MPC!

outSSIDer sounds cool.  I'm gonna give this a try.  I've been hating Vista's way of searching for open networks, so this prog might do the trick for me.

A great alternative to the above mentioned "JDownloader" is SkipScreen, a handy firefox add-on that bypasses the restrictions found in file hosting sites.

As for Hotspot Shield give It's Hidden a try. http://itshidden.com/ A free, fast, encrypted VPN that does the trick.

A day without laughter is a day wasted...

I used Hotspot Shield for a while,  but started having problems with Amazon, as reported by several other users

How can I trust hotspot shield when it starts hijacking my clicks?  It's ironic that security software would start stealing clicks to get referral money.

Oof.  Good find.

Maybe we should all go back to Tor.  :\

Under Networx, I think you meant 'quota' rather than 'quote'

JDownloader's description sounds really familiar...  Is there something else out there does basically that?  The functionality rings a bell, but the name doesn't.
