They tried electric cars. The reason there are not electric cars is because of the electrical grid. The grid cant handle everyones air conditioners! Now imagine putting everyones cars on it PLUS everything else! We'd be having blackout almost everyday!

your b**ching about a 250GB CAP?!?! Count your selfs lucky! i love in a northern part of canada (out of the way but in no term isolated) and our local ISP gives us a 5Mbps down and 1Mbps Up and limits us to 35GB combiens up and down for the month between the hours of 8:00AM and 12:00AM. the remaning 8h an night (12am-8am) are not counted though so atleast theres that! still 35GB a day gives you 1.1GB up and down per day... a lil youtube a lil gaming Rev3 and files transfers (dropbox, ftp, online backup) Very Ez to bust the limit. Going over the limit gest you 10$.... PER Mb!!!! all this wonderfull service for a total of 65CND$ a month (45CND$ More for Basic 50Ch Cable) Thank you "Cablevision Du Nord"!!

Who's your ISP? What's your service like?

 Ouch dude...

35GB/day though gives you  ~17.5GB up/down to play with, not 1.1...

I'm on Shaw in Edmonton. Got 15Mb down, 1Mb up, but my download regularly hits the 20Mbps mark, and I think I have a 250GB cap as well. I don't know if I've ever hit it. Most likely have at some point, but Shaw doesn't say anything...

I live in Canada and the option with a data plan from our major service provider which is rogers allowes for tethering with the iphone so the abiltiy is there and is offered just maybe not from At&t

CloudRider

I'm tethered to my home PC through my iPhone as I write this.  I just wish Rogers would up the data cap.  6GB/mo for $30?  Half the other iPhone-enriched countries offer unlimited data.  Why are we so behind the times here?

avatar

Caboose

Now that Bell and Telus are offering competing 3G networks, and are going to be dropping their CDMA network, hopefully Rogers shapes up and starts to offer some better deals!!

So what exactly is a wild "dear", and why would it be eating flowers?

Or did you mean to say "deer", and it's just another case of sloppy editing?

How about Starcraft 2 instead of Diablo 3? I heard that it's been in development since the last Warcraft 3 expansion was released, which was what, 2003, 2004? Oh, and let's not forget that the last Starcraft installment was over 11 years ago.

What about the epic flop of Cuil?

Do you remember the Voodoo tower PC they had on their website back when they announced the first ENVY? It was aluminum and had the MoBo rotated 90 deg and looked awesome. In fact, what happened to Voodoo itself?

avatar

MeTo

Wouldn't that be HP blackbird now.

avatar

norman

i think he means the voodoo omen desktop pc.

He had two questions 1 "Do you remember the Voodoo tower PC they had on their website back when they announced the first ENVY?" Good call you are correct. 2 "In fact, what happened to Voodoo itself?" HP bought them out.

Voodoo was existing as a separate arm of HP for a while there. The Envy and Omen had their own website. I guess the Omen sublimated into the ehter and Voodoo just wilted away or HP just quietly killed it. The Blackbird and Firebird had Voodoo DNA but were all HP. And are they still selling those? What's the story on those?

I've seen some people use their iPhone as a hotspot for their mac mini.  I don't know if MiFi (myfi) or whatever it's called is the same as tethering, but it enable him to use his iPhone as a 3G modem no problem.  Granted it still doesn't look like an insanely widespread thing I wouldn't say it's completely MIA.

avatar

Caboose

My guess is the phone was jailbroken.

Unless Apple approved a teathering app for the iPhone
