I can't believe Assassin's Creed didn't make the list. It was definitly one of my favorites.

You forgot about the best game on the entire internet Lord of the Rings Online (now free)!

I'm getting sick of hearing about Minecraft.  Is this shit THAT good?

Looks to me like a game of Legos and really simple combat / resource mechanics.

Big fucking deal.

You know, until a few weeks ago I kinda felt the same way. I had tried the free classic version online and pretty much was like "I don't get what all the hoopla is"

I decided to try the real beta version and it's freaking addicting!  You're right, it is very much like LEGO, but from the standpoint that the only real limitation you have is your own imagination.  And the best part is the sense of accomplishment you get when you finish a creation.  They don't just give you unlimited everything and say go at it.  You have to actually go out and gather everything you need to create whatever it is you want to build.

Minecraft has sold over a million copies while still only recently reaching Beta and until recently was developed only by one person.

So you're correct, it is a big fucking deal.

Wow, I really disagree with your list of 2011 games you're looking forward to. It's clear the author(s) favor shoot-em-ups over RPGs. But c'mon folks, you're looking forward to Fear 3, but not looking forward to Deus Ex, The Witcher 2, Skyrim, and Dragon Age II?  I don't mind the FPS bias, but at least come clean about it..

Really MPC? No Battlefield 3? Geez.

Still pretending that Fallout:NV was a good game? Why?

I didn't think it was fantastic, but it was imho better than Fallout 3. Please interpret the tone of my inquiry as more inquisitive than negative; but what did you not like about it?

Minecraft doesn't have an ESRB rating. I even checked the ESRB website.

And Mass Effect 2 is definately not rated E.

I KNOW that MaximumPC stole this article, because there's no way that they wouldn't include Deus Ex 3 in their 2011 games list.

MineCraft is an amazing game i just wished it was written in c++ not java. Then the game wouldnt have so many slow downs.

Yeah, Minecraft is brutal on my laptop's 2.2Ghz core2 duo. It gets 100C+ playing that game (I must admit that is largely my laptop's fault for a bad cooling design).

...what about battlefield 3 ?

Yes, and Skyrim? Or are you implying that you don't expect these to be released this year?

Good job on the selections.  I'm almost afraid to start Minecraft as I have an addictive gaming personality and that game looks...well, VERY addictive.

I didn't enjoy Fallout: NV anywhere near as much as Fallout 3 (which I list as the best game I've ever played).  New Vegas was too repetitive and drawn out.  And there was just something about fighting in the ruins of all the Washington D.C. monuments and buildings that was just way too surreal and literally made the hair stand up on the back of your neck.  That sensation was definitely missing in NV.
