Geeks rejoice! Comic-Con, the annual holy land for comic book, movie, television, and gaming culture, is just about to open its doors. We’re down here in San Diego covering the event, and had a chance to sneak in before the doors opened to the 400,000 attendees to take a few photos of the convention floor. The spotlight tonight: the video game presence at the con. All the top gaming publishers are here, including EA, Capcom, THQ, and Sony. Maximum PC even has its own booth, Gaming University, where we’re joined by our friends at HP, FunCom, and CDV. Of course, we couldn’t resist snapping a few photos of the awesome props on display, including the mind-blowing Nite Owl ship from the upcoming Watchmen movie. Honestly, we tried to obey the “do not touch” signs. It just looked too delicious.

avatarAh I knew there was a

Ah I knew there was a conspiracy and this article proves it. Up above HP is referred to as a friend. This can only mean one thing and that is Maximum PC has sold out to HP and AMD/ATI. That's pretty damning evidence. Is DM09 going to be an entirely HP build?

avatarIt's a phrase Keith. Nothing

It's a phrase Keith. Nothing more. Norm refers to them as friends because they're sponsoring the Comic Con booth. Fortunately for you, sponsoring a booth at Comic Con doesn't come with any other perks, they just get space in our booth.

If you'd like to read a publication that's crooked and runs editorial in exchange for advertising, you should look elsewhere. If the advertising department tried to interject themselves in the editorial process I'd walk out the door without looking back. Rest assured that Maximum PC doesn't trade editorial coverage for ad dollars. I'd appreciate it if you stopped insinuating with snide comments in damn near everything we post.

If you don't believe me, and continue to think we're crooked, don't read us anymore. It's simple.

avatarAny friends of MPC are friends of mine

I'm sure there are worse companies to share a booth with. I personally like HP; I have 2 of their computers and 1 all-in-one printer. When I upgrade, I will prolly continue to get HP products (unless I build myself). Just remember to snap that MLP pic for me...mmkay?

I know I'm in the vast minority here but I will ever so grateful if you manage to snap a pic of the exclusive 2008 MLP. I'm dying to add her to my collection of 500.
