I remember MaxPC announcing the Crysis 2 DX11 patch was fake, then the next week it came out lol

Here's hoping Hulu Authentication joins this list soon

The Corrupted One

Something that disturbs me is that with AMD failing, Intel would hold a huge monopoly if it managed to fully kill them of buy them out.

Intel changes it's name Intelsoft, strikes terror into the hearts of everyone for a few years, gets ass kicked by anti trust act.

Nothing that a good earthquake in Santa Clara (home to BOTH Intel and NVidia) wouldn't cure.

Buy AMD then! MaximumPC has said so themselves, AMD provides the best "bang for your buck". Unless you absolutely *NEED* the fastest CPU out there, you're wasting your money buying new Intel chips.

I researched this and it is absolutely true that AMD is the better buy for bank on your buck.
But it is that draw of having a Kick Ass CPU that draws me to Intel. My IB o/c to 4.5GHz+ just turned in a Passmark CPU score of 12,753, the highest I ever had.

And I thank you for that ;)

Sadly I don't think I could push my PII 955 to anything higher than 4.2 Ghz on air :(

I know it isn't comparable performance per clock cycle and all that, but that Intel's "overclock unfriendly" CPU is able to get higher clocks is saddening.

OUCH, my Phenom II 955 @ 3200 MHz (stock clock) gets only 4270.6 points in CPU. This Phenom chip is SO much better than what I'd been using before, but damn, to know that the bar is at least 3x higher is to know both fun and disappointing at the same time.

Ambivalence, I has it ;)

(They want 24 bucks for this benchmark software?!!!!!!!!!!)

If Intel really bought nVidia, then AMD could be put out of business. intel would probably combine CUDA cores in their processors, getting great integrated graphics

RIM currently has less market share than Windows Mobile(not Windows Phone 7). They will be bankrupt by fall.

About had a heart attack when I first started reading the headline. Thought there was no way I could have missed Intel buying up nVidia.

Whoa! I was just going to write the same thing! There it was Intel's Buying NVidia. I froze in my seat and my heart stopped until I could finish the sentence.
That's no fair. It's like saying on the street that there is a stripper inside and finding out it's paint stripper. Someone is going to pay for this!

That would make amd go bankrupt if it happened and may even take the gpu part of them down with the cpu.
