So is there an actual FREE driver updater out there?  Drivermax requires $30 before it will actually help you fix anything, which by my definition is not free.

maybe you saw a link for a pro version or something, i use it ALL the time, and its definitly free

You're right. I followed a misleading ad link at the bottom of the page and ended up with something else.  Thanks very much for the link. It's a pretty sweet little program.

yeah advertising, kinda suck where it's placed byt free stuff needs to get money somewhere

No DriverMax, you think a Driver Update checker thats free would be on this list.

I've been needing something like Calibrize. I'll try it when I get home.

Calibrize wont work for me. I tried it. My Contrast is way way too high and it wont lower enough to make the black bar dark enough to make the circle barely visible. Damn these 22" 6bit panels suck.

Why do I need a console app in Windows Vista? Most everything is done from within Windows now. I know there are some things out there that required the command prompt but it's been so long anyway since I've needed the prompt.

The shell is still useful for many things, particularly anything repetitive, such as grabbing all the files in a tree and dumping them into a folder.

(find . -name * -print0 | xargs -0 -I cp {} /path/to/new/folder)
