The Comic-Con 2009 Cosplay Gallery -- 600 Amazing Costumes
This is it – the post you've been waiting for. After four days of wandering the show floor, sitting in on movie studio panels, and epic line waiting, we've come out of Comic-Con 2009 with the mother load: 600 (yes, SIX HUNDRED) photos of the most intricate, sexy, and spellbinding cosplay that showed up this year. Star Wars and Superheroes were well represented, but we also snapped up shots of PC gaming icons, including several Team Fortress 2 teams and an amazing Left 4 Dead group. Legions of slave Leias weren't afraid to bare their skin and the forces of Cobra proudly showed off their guns. We even saw a bunch of familiar faces from last year's pictorial. Grab and seat, put your day on hold, and enjoy the best cosplay gallery from the best year of Comic-Con ever!

Hey, the starwarz chick look so cute with her costume. Woo! I always wonder what those happy cutesy dressup anime gals are really thinking. I bet it's something along the lines of, "Just one more Con and I'll have enough money to pay for my college marketing course."...just kidding.. Hope I can join by next years event..

Nice creativity by some, but a lot more redundancy this year than normal.
The hot pikachu chick on page 10 definitely stole the show in my opinion though.

i usually dont complain, but with 600 images and having to click one at a time to view a larger version of them is just plain rediculus. why didn't you guys put them in a way you can just keep clicking next? one pic at a time just drives me crazy. Granted i know not everyone wants to view them all but hey how hard is it to click next to skip the pic you dont want to see.

Sorry I couldn't attend this year, but at least you took some great photos! Maybe next year you could label some of them?

I just thought of something: I didn't see anyone dressed up as the Observer from Fringe. I would think that one would have been popular, especially since it's a super easy costume to put together: shave your head (or wear a skull cap) and wear a suit

Adam Savage from Mythbusters. Apparently he was walking around for the whole thing giving twitter hints as to his wearabouts, someone finally found him near the last day.

Ok, so I’m a pig, sue me. The “Lea Slave Girls” were all excellent (and hot, as hell) The Street Fighter “Cammy” with her a$$ showing was HOT! The thick asian/Hispanic Slave lea with the clone commander was good, so was the clone. The Luke Cage with a fro was, embarrassing. The very thin girl with blue/green skin and a gas mask on her hip, who I surmise to be possibly a Deathnote character, was nice, even through all the makeup. The two blondes dressed as err, Transformers…HOT! White corset girl on page 7, Smokin! Classic superman on Page 7 not bad. The vampire in the platform boots, always nice to see a large set of hoots getting squashed tastefully. The unkown (to my knowledge) superhero girl in white with blue gloves and red cape with a nice set of hoots…WOW!!!! The wonder woman on page 10 with the fake hoots, nice tat!

I haven't even *thought* the words "Power-Man and Iron-Fist" since I was a little kid some 35 years ago. For that reason the guy in the Luke Cage outfit on row 10, column 2 of the 4th page reallly made me smile.
That is one blacktabulous PowerMan getup. Wish I didn't live so far from San Diego.
And no-one can/should attempt to do "Six" but Tricia. It's just no good.

As the wearer of that "blacktabulous" Power Man costume, if it made you smile than I can proudly say "Mission Accomplished."

There must have been a sale on Princess Leia slave costumes eh?
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sad that I saw only one Battlestar Galactica costume. Nice picture of the Six though...

DO you have the high-res images stored somewhere? There are a few costumes I saw that I wouldn't mind doing for one year.

What movie/book/series/whatever are all the people from who are dressed up with the guys in vests and pocket watches and usually goggles or spectacles and sometimes holding steam-punk looking weapons and the girls typically wearing elaborate looking dresses or corsets often with lots of lace etc.? I've seen pictures of them in this gallery and in the previous ones, but I have no idea what they're from. I'd really like to know because I love the aesthetic.

Back when I was going to comic book conventions, there were no women within a mile of the place, but there also weren't any wannabe theater dorks running around in costume.
I'm not totally convinced the trade off is worth it.
