I remember in the old MS-Word (WordXP!?!?), it used to allow typing text into a shape (create shape > apply txt box to it) then you can rotate to whatever angle you like.

In Word 2007+ versions, this feature was removed.  Also, the only thing you can rotate are shapes and txt rotates can only be done by 90-degrees.

The only response from people is that I should use FrontPage!  Boo!

I have recently tried to create some alignment sheets in Word but I kind of failed! Does anyone know how to create them or do I need another program to do so? Some friends of mine at the university told me to do so but now I think that they were lying to me. Can anyone please help me?

This is actually a very old feature, they just made it more discoverable (which has been the whole purpose of the ribbon interface).  After you have taken your screenshot by pressing the Print Screen key, place your cursor where you want the image to go and Paste (Ctrl-V).

Or what if you need to write a huge essay and you have little time? Try this. Type the following into Word 2007 or 2010 and press enter:

=lorem(999)

Or:

=rand(999)
