Another one I'd add to the list that’s just starting is called eventtap.com, and it does something that is needed but doesn’t exist on the web- display things to do right now in your area. I expect to see it become very popular within the next couple years, as long as people use it and add content (something which it’s lacking right now, but it’s just starting to grow)...so check it out! Maybe add it to the list!

I use left2go.com when I have a deadline to meet. It lets me know exactly how many days, hours, minutes, seconds I have left to procrastinate.

Like the previous post said, I agree that this website looks like a good idea. Seems like it lets consumers combine buying power to get a better deal.

Great combination of standbys like Kayak and io9 mixed with some useful new discoveries.

Those looking for an alternative to Hulu etc. might also take a look at Jinni http://www.jinni.com for a new, visual way to choose and get seamlessly connected to watch with Netflix, Hulu, etc.

Obsolete

Thanks so much for linking to ObsoelteTheBook.com! My name is Anna Jane, however. Not Mary Jane. Although, I do like Mary Janes...

The site is actually just an extension of my book, OBSOLETE. Thanks for allowing me this shameless plug.

I've been using Weather Underground for a long time now, and the ability to select advanced radar types alone is reason enough it beats Weather.com in my book. (Of course, WU doesn't have Heather Tesch, so it's kind of even, I guess. :) )

More than once, I've used WU to monitor approaching storms...the interactive radar display gives you six frames of playback (more if you pay), which is more than adequate to figure out where the serious weather is headed.

Comic Book Guy

It only searches cities in Iowa, what good is it for Craigslist..?!

Comic Book Guy

avatar

myndflyte

.....did you only put in Iowa zip codes when you searched?

avatar

Comic Book Guy

Why would I put Iowa zip codes, I am in Canada, I tried postal codes, as well as city; it's only good for the US then...so it's still useless!

Comic Book Guy

avatar

Modred189

I think you are mistaken! It just means it is useless to people who don't live in the US. Who are pretty useless anyway!!!

I KID!!!mm :-D

avatar

Havok

Oooooooo.... you just pissed off A LOT of users Mr. Naruto-avatar-person...When a Canadian pokes fun at Canada, it's funny, when a 'Mericain makes fun of the US it's funny, just not the opposites. Canada shames YOU!
