The 34 Best Webcomics for Geeks
Here at Maximum PC, we get accused of being geeks pretty frequently and it's a badge we wear with pride. Different than your garden variety nerds or dorks, geeks enjoy things like computers, and math, and comic books. We're guilty of all of those things, especially the last part. Of all of the things the internet has done for us, perhaps one of it's most beneficial gifts to the geeks was the web comic.
Much like the shift from print to digital in the traditional publishing world, the comic world has also undergone its own digital revolution - or should we say digital explosion? With the advances of software and the benefit of a cheaper publishing platform came a slew of online comics which ran the gamut from hilarious to hideous. We collected a list of the best geeky offerings from staff favorites to Facebook suggestions in order to provide you with over thirty hilarious, entertaining and incredibly drawn web comics to secretly read throughout your work day. Geek or no, there's a comic here that you'll be able to enjoy. Dive in, and feel free to share your favorites in the comments!

I found a few of these worth bookmarking, but not most of them. Along with xkcd, I prefer the humour of dorktower.com and thedoghousediaries.com.

I'm shocked that Looking for Group was not on this list. That one I haven't found a person that doesn't love the comic by 5 pages from the start. Legend of Bill is another that is full of wacky humor too. If you take that with it's two spinoff comics, Barwench Tales and Gnome Cronicles, is one of the best reads next to LFG.

You missed one of the best comics out there, Daisy Owl. Sure, it's dead, but the comic has sure geek roots and is one of the few that is funny for every strip.

3 webcomics that are geeky and fun that should be in this list:
Ctrl+Alt+Del (www.cad-comic.com)
Real Life Comics (www.reallifecomics.com)
AppleGeeks (www.applegeeks.com)
ok, so that last one is written by an apple fanboy...and has recently gone on hiatus, but still great comic.

Out of that list the only ones I regularly read are PVP & Diesel Sweeties. Others I read that aren't on the list are Shortpacked! (interesting note: Shortpacked! creator David Willis is featured on the T-shirt on the guy in Hijinks Ensue in this gallery), Not Invented Here (drawn by the creator of Ugly hill, Paul Southworth), Bear Nuts, Frankenstein Superstar, and Endtown...

I've read this site for almost 6 years without ever creating an account. For you to say Ctrl-Alt-Del isn't funny is like saying Mcdonalds food is healthy for you. Most people at or above average intelligence would call BS on that. I read several of the comics listed, none of them religiously. I haven't even kept up with CAD in the last year and a half. There was a time when I did greatly anticipate the new comics weekly release schedule. I just find it hard to believe you find no humor in Tim's comics. Slowly but surely this year I've moved further away from respecting the opinions of staff at Maximum PC. This article isn't helping matters any.

Strange you didn't include CAD-comics on the basis that "it's not funny." It's funnier than half the crap you did include. To each their own.

I read 11 of these. I think I've been through the death and re-birth of Nothing Nice to Say about 3 times by now.

The Web Comic I follow is Battlepug.com. (mostly because I love Pugs.) It's not exactly geeky, but it has a sense of humor and the artwork is gorgeous. At one point Santa Claus is depicted as a slave driver. A new page posts every Monday morning.

It isn't in there. I should have clarified: We didn't include it because it's not funny.

I know that not being included is often harder on the webcomic than the reader. However, I know that it doesn't necessarily turn you into a sad, depressed sack of tears for the rest of the webcomic's life. Readers move past it, and heal.
