Over $1000 USD for that i7 that's all but 2 generations old at this point? Wow. That much for a chip that one might call a grandfather lol.

My AMD 8350 has to plead "nolo contedere" in most any competition against it but I'm not seeing a processor that I'd consider 5x better, and this creaking old grandpa of a chip costs about 5x the price of an 8350.

Got a Micro Center 20 mins from my house. Saves me a lot of money :)

I see your $215 and I raise you to $189.99. http://microcenter.com/product/388577/Core_i5_3570K_34GHz_LGA_1155_Processor

By the way... don't copy my post.

It's in-store only though, and MCs are pretty hard to find. Too bad. Still, I hate to say it, but I'd recommend that a user just suck it up and pay the extra $10 or so. That, or bundle with a motherboard on Newegg/Amazon/whatever. You can probably save a few dollars there.

I've never seen a MicroCenter store.

Doesn't surprise me, they only have 23 stores nationwide. Closest one to me is a 2.5 hour drive away.
