Big Game Crash Blues Under Windows Vista? Run, Don't Walk, to Get the Hotfix You Need

Yeah I guess that answers my question about Dark Messiah crashing oh so much on Vista 32 vs XP 32 bit.
I do not know what I would do without dual boot! :D

Perhaps People should stick to using Windows-XP. The current hardware you have does not support DX10.1 anyway.

Love Linux and 3D Linux Games :)

I experienced this the other night playing Battlefield 2142 in 32bit Vista. The game crashed, the OS practically locked up and I had to hard reboot the system just to get it back up and running... Don't seem to have this problem (or as bad) in XP... just gotta get my copy of XP activated now...

-= I don't want to be dead, I want to be alive! Or... a cowboy! =-

It seems to me that the way games are going that the move to 64-bit is needed worse than adding cores to processors. How about making the system more efficient for once instead of just running the engine harder. Ofcourse we won't, efficiency is just not the American way. boooooo

I wonder if that is why my WoW has been crashing lately? I would hate to mess my system up even worse by downloading a patch that I do not need.

Here's a useful article to help you get better WoW reliability under Vista:

Here's more information on the hotfix itself:

This patch is not likely to cause any additional problems - but if you're worried about it, create a system restore point before you install it.
It's amazing how illogical a business built on binary logic can be.
