Ask the Doctor: Out with the Old

I am using the Windows 7 Beta and I really like it. However, I am trying to delete my windows.old folder, and it keeps saying I don’t have permission from the system to perform that function.
I’ve turned off UAC completely, restarting in the safe mode, and nothing works. I would appreciate any suggestions, as it takes up a ton of room.

You could also boot from a LiveCD Linux distro such as Knoppix or even Ubuntu. I've used it a few times to get rid of some pesky folders that Windows would not allow me to delete for the live of me.

The first time I did my vista reinstall I had that folder and it took me several hours to get rid of it. It was a 70 gig folder.
