If you don't really care the prefermace, I found it's onsale just buy one only 138 bucks. It's cheap.

I went to the e-vga site to poke around and see if I could spot what might be causing the confusion. It looks like they put out other versions of the 680i boards because some of the versions have lead based solder on them (which is known to cause birth defects). There is now a list of products that have the lead based solder on them accompanied by the model numbers as well. I'd steer clear of the products with the lead based solder if your lazy about washing your hands and want to have kids someday. :)

After reading your Dream Machine article, I got on Newegg to order the EVGA nForce 680i SLI motherboard. Imagine my dismay when I found not less than three such boards listed, and nowhere in your review or article does the actual model number appear.

I second that request. After reading the Dream Machine article I decided to build a similar box for my next project. eVGA now has five 680i SLI boards shown on their website and the spec sheets don't provide much differentiation except for the Black Pearl edition with water cooling. While it would be nice to assume that all 5 would perform as well as the Dream Machine I am not ready to make that leap.
