If Apple hadn't sold us out to the NSA, decided that recording all audio captured by the phone's microphone was an idea worth considering and hadn't decided to trash its reputation for having exceptionally good screens with the iPhone 5 then I would rank it leagues above Google.

As it stands I believe that Google is still more evil than Apple (hey Google, what was the point of forced HTTPS if you're selling us out to the NSA anyhow) but not so much that I'm willing to trade in my Android phone for an iPhone.

If you're saying Google is more evil than Apple for participating in Prism, you have got it backwards. Google gives a lot more pushback than Apple who by comparison rolls out the red carpet for the government.

There are myriad reasons why Apple is less evil than Google, perhaps the best one being that they don't pretend, right down to their motto, that they aren't evil. They're both evil.

Google's "pushback" is a token effort, a face-saving facade that does nothing for us. At heart I think that we all know this.

Not at all. Since everone had a gag order on any pushback. There was no publicity to be gained by it. The companies that didn't push back didn't have their customers interests in mind. The ones that did, did.

In my book if you have to call one more evil and one less evil. Google is less evil.

Saying Apple is less evil is more assertion than fact. If you could back it up, then I'd be more receptive of it.

And your logic seems to be that you'd rather a company which would roll over and give the government all your data, all the while keeping mum about it. As opposed to one which bogs the government requests down in law to keep them to a minimum and hands data over only so they aren't breaking the law and at risk of being raided?

Isn't it clear for you all already? You are tracked and listened everyday. It isn't a matter of whether you like it or not or whether you want it them to stop doing it. The question is, who do you want to be following you:

Sony's hackers
NSA
Apple's app control team
Anonymous and their varieties
Some Asian hackers
Nigerian phishers/scammers
your mom
the guy fixing your computer

Since I'm the only guy fixing my computer, I'd like to be watched by him :P

Those were just examples, not actual choices. You should have read the invisible disclaimer underneath. O_0

Everyone is scrambling to iOS since PopCap screwed all us Android folks out of Plants vs. Zombies 2

Once you're stuck in the garden of iOS it's difficult to justify getting out. I always said that the best way for Android to win was to make all of the iOS apps that you can prove you own, transfer to you android free of charge. If they could do that then the walls of crApple would crumble.
