Low power consumption and tablet APUs are cool and all but I would like to have heard more about the laptop APUs, the ones that are going to save countless potential PC gamers from being damned to consoles because their execrable Intel iGPUs aren't even rated to run 2D games off of Steam.

Well all the integration together with the addition of mantle & true audio will make me definitely buy an APU for sure.
Maybe if AMD could negotiate with Samsung or TSMC the remaining companies who are capable of 20nm lithography then AMD will finally be able to flush Intel & NVidia down the toilet.

/They never announce things early enough for intel or Nvidia to have time to react/ You are kidding, right?

Nope, I am not kidding.

If only AMD could bake these at intels foundry with 20nm or 14nm they we would really have something amazing on our hands. These chips are HSA enabled and are incredibly powerful for what they are.

So, no steamroller FX, I see. This seriously blows. I only wanted to switch over to APU post-excavator with an FX steamroller upgrade between. I guess AMD really wants me to go Intel.

Wait, wait....let me get this straight. At AMD's APU13 event, where they talked about APU's and annouced new APU's....you're pissed that they didn't talk about new FX chips and non APU's...at a APU event.

Is that right?

AMD has yet to announce new FX chips. That doesn't automatically mean that FX is no more. AMD help a event to talk about APU's, and APU's sell more than FX chips. Calm down.

Woah, slow yer roll there, Sparky. I'm basing my comment off of more than just what i've seen in this article. The FX series has disappeared entirely from the AMD roadmaps, and not just the ones at APU13. I was hoping that by now that they would show some movement in this area, some signs of life, but they haven't thus far. Ii hope I'm wrong. I really do, but these rumors that I dismissed so long ago seem to be coming true.

I'm sure They'll announce a steamroller FX chip soon. They announced the piledriver APU way ahead of the FX chips and i'm sure that's what is happening here. I would bet that we'll have rumors surfacing about our steamroller FX chips in the coming months. They never announce things early enough for intel or Nvidia to have time to react and i'm sure thats what's happening here. so hang in there!
