x86 tablets running Windows seem like a good thing IMO. All of my Windows apps on a tablet. I can't wait for a capable x86 tablet to get to the <$300 range (honestly, these $500+ prices are ridiculous, a convertible laptop is superior and in the same price range).

While Win8 is "touchable" I still find its touch interface to suck compared to iOS and Android :(

Makes sense they'll design something using Win8 since MS is slashing Win8 prices to try to make up for their metro UI debacle. Of course by running a MS operating system they will be compromising system stability, but if they can get the license at a bargain basement price then it's not all bad.

Is Windows 8 less memory-intensive than Windows 7? I no longer consider computers with under 4GB of ram because I bought a Win 7 machine a few years ago, and on the very first day, while I was removing all the trial software, it ran out of memory and crashed (isn't virtual memory supposed to prevent this?).

Windows scales its memory consumption with available memory. I had a 2GB RAM laptop that ran Windows 7 just fine without significant issues. If you give it more RAM, it will happily eat it.

Not that it's a bad thing.

More competition. Always a good thing for the consumer.

It's good that AMD is finally branching out. But the biggest question remains: how energy efficient is it? Sure the TDP is suggested at 4.5W, but that doesn't tell me how much energy it'll actually pull.
