Can you tell that GPU makers are totally stoked about the release of Battlefield 3? Both Nvidia and AMD have made available pre-release graphics card drivers for the Battle 3 beta, the former of which we detailed yesterday (catch a recap of Nvidia's GeForce 285.38 beta release here ), and the latter we break down below.
AMD's Catalyst 11.10 Preview driver is classified as a Hotfix and is really a beta build, so keep that in mind before you go updating your Radeon rigs. For those of you who do decide to give the pre-release drive a whirl, it's supposed to improve performance in Battlefield 3's open beta for both non anti-aliasing and application enabled anti-aliasing scenarios for Radeon HD 6000 and 5000 series videocards in a standalone or Crossfire configuration.
The new driver also enables support for Eyefinity 5x1 display configurations in both portrait and landscape modes, and enhances the UI in AMD's Vision Engine Control Center.
Battlefield 3 is set to ship October 25, 2011.
